Toyota has been on a quest to shed its ho-hum image for the past few years. We found their efforts to be somewhat mixed in terms of the design and powertrains, but applaud them for trying. Last week, we reported on a CARB document providing some details about the upcoming Subaru Crosstrek Plug-In Hybrid. Los Angeles - Toyota Debuted today the Toyota RAV-4 Prime, a plug-in version of their RAV-4 hybrid. The RAV-4 Prime ups the ante with a big bump to the horsepower figure, 302 horses combined between the gasoline engine and electric motors. The gives the RAV-4 Prime a projected 0-60 of 5.8 seconds, the second fastest 0-60 in the Toyota lineup, while also delivering 90 MPGe. After just 4 years, Mercedes-Benz has refreshed the AMG GT for the 2020 model year. A new programmable coil over setup allows for more agile handling depending on track conditions. Fiat released details this morning of the 2019 Fiat 500x due to be shown at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show this week. The primary upgrade is an all-new 1.3 liter turbo-charged 4-cylinder which produces 178 horsepower and a class-leading 210 lb-ft of torque. We know a fair amount of information about the 2018 JL Wrangler thanks to various leaks and rumors.
