If you happen to be one of those people who has an allergic reaction just seeing a picture of a BMW 5-Series GT, then I recommend closing out or go back to the main page and read something else.

Despite the 5-Series GT not being the sales success BMW has wanted it to be, they seem to be soldiering on with it and are working on a smaller version.

New spy shots released this week show BMW testing a 3-Series GT. Like the 5-Series GT, this 3-Series GT mule has a rounded roofline. Sources inside BMW say the 3-Series GT will have a more elegant rear end the 5-Series GT.

The GT will mirror the 3-Series engine lineup, so for the U.S. that will be a 2.0L turbo-four and a 3.0L turbo inline-six.

Terrible, it is like they sat around a table and said, "how do we make the 3-series worse?" "add weight and make it uglier" "ah, good idea."

This could do better than a 5-series GT though since younger people tend to buy the 3 and younger people may like versatility. But to me, the 3 and 5 should both be offered in sedan and wagon, no odd body styles. They make an X3 and X5 for people that want an SUV version of the 3 and 5-series.
