  • Dreaming Of A Canyon Denali

GMC's chief, Duncan Aldred has a dream. He wants to see a Denali version of the new Canyon midsize truck.

"I'm pushing the engineers and designers to give me a credible Denali,"Aldred told Automotive News. "I'm not just going to badge engineer it. It's got to be credible."

Aldred says the Denali lineup made up 20 percent of GMC's mix in 2013. He wants to see that increased to 25 percent in the next few years and believes a Denali version of the Canyon is the ticket.

"I'm going to sell quite a lot of Canyons, so that's kind of going to halt my progress" if the pickup doesn't eventually get a Denali version, Aldred said.

Aldred wouldn't reveal what he would like to see in a Canyon Denali. But knowing what GMC has done to other vehicles with the Denali treatment, expect cosmetic enhancements inside and out, and possibly a bigger engine.

I super expect a Denali version to happen.  The top end model already looks very Denali now.

I've been spending too much time on the GMC configurator lately

Lower it, Monochromatic paint job and drop the TT-V6 into the truck and call it Syclone! That will sell! :metal:

Paint it Black Diamond with Black Chrome Rims, Grill and door handles.

Would be a logical addition to the lineup, this Canyon Denali.  With a starting price of just under $90k, they should sell pretty well.

Speaking of pricey trucks, I saw on FB one of the car mags had a '15 F150 v6 Lariat that was stickered over $60k...not even a V8 Platinum version...WTF????

Prices for entry level auto lines have gotten out of line. No Ford, Chevy, GMC or Ram is work that.

What I'd like is a Terrain AllTerrain.

Kind of like a Trail Hawk package? That would be nice.

Actually a AllTerrain Terrain Edition with Lift Kit, Hummer style Crawl ratio and protection would rock for the Terrain CUV!

Looking under the hood of the Canyon V6 today, there is mooore than enough room for a 5.3....

The word Typhoon was also mentioned today as a "would like"
