At the SEMA show a couple weeks ago, Hyundai showed off the the RMR500 concept. Built with its motorsports partner Rhys Millen Racing, the coupe uses a modifed version of Hyundai's 5.0-liter Tau V8 found in the Genesis R-Spec Sedan which now produces 450 HP.
The car seemed to make a big impression on Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik. When asked about the Genesis Coupe concept at Q&A session, Krafcik said,
“How could you not be serious about that? How could you not be serious about a 450-hp Tau-V8 powered Genesis Coupe? I want that for my next company car.”
Maybe the dream will come true with the refreshed Genesis when it comes out in January at NAIAS.
