Spying: The Jeep Wrangler Pickup is Real!

  • Why hello there Wrangler Pickup

The next-generation Jeep Wrangler is bringing forth something that a lot of people have been clamoring for a long time; a pickup. We already know that the Wrangler Pickup will be coming out sometime late next year. Now we have the first spy shots of it.

 

According to Car and Driver, this mule is based on the Unlimited model. We can't tell you much about the design, aside from it appearing to have the iconic Wrangler shape. What we can tell you is that the pickup will use a new body-on-frame architecture that will use a steel frame, and a combination of aluminum and plastic for the body panels. Engines might be a new 2.0L turbo-four (possibly codenamed Hurricane) and Chrysler's 3.6L V6. A new eight-speed automatic will help with fuel economy.

    Be interesting if the rumors I have seen in other stories comes true of a Plug-in Hybrid version of this truck.

    Needs Ecodiesel before any pansy-ass plug-in.  Also needs a regular cab model.

    Given the current climate, I would be shocked too see a diesel out of a Jeep outlet in this case.  But they will probably keep suspense right down to the wire.  But when they pull the switch for production most buyers will see the light and get a regular gasoline version...shocking, I know.  Don't want to just Bolt out in saying this...my batteries are drained, maybe I need to stop posting for the night and go to bed.

    If all else fails Chrysler will have a panel to discuss this. I am sure there will be a big breaker breaker here at C and G if there is indeed a Diesel version.

    Given Jeeps unique shape though, a hybrid Jeep would give a whole new meaning to the term electrical box!

    Now that I have discharged my thoughts, I hope you are all amped up about the future of Jeep and don't have any resistance to this new truck.  It will be an interesting part of the line!

    You really need some sort of discipline, probably grounded actually, for your relay of anti hybrid information!

    Probably almost all vehicles will have a hybrid version within these decade. Would not surprise me that this will happen!
