Range Rover Diesel-Hybrid To Arrive On U.S. Soil?

A new report from Edmunds says that Land Rover will bring over diesel-hybrid powertrain for its Range Rover and Range Rover Sport to the U.S. within the next couple of years.

Previous reports said that Land Rover would only sell the the diesel-hybrid Range Rover in Europe due to the strict emissions regulations in the U.S. and the demand for diesels being on the low end.

However, Land Rover has changed its stance due to Europe's upcoming Euro 6 emissions standards that will take effect in September 2014. The Euro 6 emissions standards will bring Europe more in line with the U.S.' standards, which will allow manufacturers to bring vehicles over to the U.S. without that many changes.

Diesels have been also gaining in popularity here in the U.S. Recent figures show diesel car and SUV sales in the U.S. grew 24 percent from 2010-2012.

That's not everything. Edmunds says turbodiesel V6 and V8 engines are being readied for the U.S.
