Lexus is having a problem with their new vehicles showing up before their official showing. The first one being the new RX crossover. Now, the new ES has been revealed.

Caught by someone on the XCar fourms, the new ES follows Lexus' new design language. The front end gets the new predator front end grill treatment and LED strips running along the headlights. Around the back, a new set of sculpted side fenders and the trunk lid closely resembling the flagship LS.

Inside, the GS influence continues. A large screen displaying navigation, radio, and climate takes center stage. Also, simpler surfaces and conservative colors keep it very tame.

Oops, didn't know you'd already got to this one.

They just keep getting uglier and uglier. Lexus is clueless on design. Maybe they want to scare the old people off, problem is the young people won't buy it either.

Dash has so many cut lines it's ridiculous. Also, dash hints at BMW. Exterior profile is aero-generic and front is not cute.

I really liked my description of the new ES in my duplicate article:

... it’s still the most expensive shade of beige money can buy.

What else needs to be said?

Why are they so into these huge shelves on the top of their dashboards. They are a sea of flat grey nothing.

WOW,Talk about a big build up to nothing. Seems to cut people into the I love it or hate it camp based on the comments on the web site where the pictures are posted.

Over all, Buick has nothing to fear, this car is a let down and I do not see sales going up at all but just selling to existing people who already drank the coolaid.

This is NOT a conquest auto. Hyundia and Kia are doing better than this Camry warm over.

Unremarkable, but better looking than the current car by a smidge. Better done than the ugly new GS.

Haha wow people on this site hate Lexus. I am not saying I have any plans to buy one but I don't think it's terrible. I mostly agree that it is boring despite the grill. That is their thing though and it has worked for them. Lexus is hardly hurting for business.

Well, it's been the boring lex for years....they are going to have to figure something out as their owners die off...

Yeah, the ES has a geriatric image, but I do know two people that bought them--both were under 30...

I do know one person here...at 31. It still fits the image to the t around here though...

The entire Lexus line rests on the RX and ES. I don't think Lexus can afford to screw up the ES... and I also don't think that interior is a step forward for them.

The new dash seems to be an improvement over the current one with it's odd circular top to the center stack...

Not with more cut lines than a 92 Silverado it doesn't.
