Rumorpile: Is Levante the name of the smaller Maserati sedan?

We’re going long with this rumor, so bear that in mind. MotoriOnline, a Italian automotive site reports that Maserati has trademarked two names; Cinqueporte and Levante. MotoriOnline speculates the Cinqueporte will be the name for the new SUV due to the name translating to “five doors”.

So what about Levante? Well, MotoriOnline says the name will most likely appear on the new small sedan that will sit under the Quattroporte. The new small sedan is due out in 2014.

Maserati has never really impressed me as a car, the Quattroporte was cool but never really made me want to say buy it. To me this is a company that could go away into the history books and not really be missed.

Or am I missing something bigger that this car division has to offer the world?

platform for the next Chrysler 200 right there....

UGH, while helping my son buy his first new Jeep, I took a look at the new 200 they have on the lots and all I can say is while the fit and finish is way better than the old Sebring it replaced, it is very boring and just Ugh, does nothing for me.
