The Ram Tradesman HD was an interesting idea for pickup. Using the new Tradesman 1500 as a base, Ram slipped in the suspension and chassis bits from the 2500 HD.

However according to PickupTrucks.com, the Tradesman HD will not be appearing for the 2013 model year and anytime after that. No concrete reason was given as to why the Ram Tradesman HD was given the boot. PickupTrucks.com thinks that with the new 2013 Ram 1500s beginning production and the HD versions getting ready for their redesign, the Tradesman HD wasn't a high-enough priority.

I wonder if they couldn't make money on it. It might have been too much truck for Joe-the-Plumber to buy new and he didn't need the full Hemi anyway.

Sounds like the light-duty Tradesman is back though.
