July 2, 200619 yr Ok, I'm in the Southland for the weekend (when I purchased the ticket, I didn't know I'd be here last month for the AIA convention). So, I forgot to bring CDs and I have to channel surf. So Cal keeps changing but some things have stayed the same for years. KRTH (K-earth) is still an oldies station, "The Wave" is still jazz, and KBIG is still generic pop. So, yesterday, I drive out to Rancho Mirage (bolts onto Palm Springs) and I'm on KRTH and I hear "Spill The Wine." What a goof-ass song, complete with the lady speaking Spanish in the background. Absurd. Then, I'm driving back and there's Disco Saturday Night ( ) on KBIG. I heard "Lady Marmalade" (voulez vous coucher avec moi) and "Push, Push in the Bush". What songs irritate the hell out of you and/or make you bust a gut?

July 3, 200619 yr I can't stand the Black-Eyed Peas now. I liked "Let's Get It Started" but ever since then it was a downhill spiral for me. I basically hate any songs/artists/bands where a male lead singer sounds like a whiny girl. Now "Trapped in the Cupboard"...that's the $h!. :AH-HA_wink:
July 3, 200619 yr The band Nitro makes me laugh because it's so incredibly bad. Look up the song "Freight Train" on YouTube to see what I'm talking about. Like I said to a friend earlier tonight, the singer's hair was probably the leading cause of ozone depletion in the late 80s. As for stuff that annoys me, pretty much any emo/pop punk band. In my book, the Offspring's "Ignition" was one of the last true punk albums. Too many bands that claim to be punk today have whiny vocalists, and the whole emo scene just gets on my nerves. The college indie scene also gets pretty annoying. I also really dislike modern hip hop. I'm not a big hip hop fan in the first place, but the music used to be real--before all the rappers became millionaires and rapped about their crib, gold chains, and Escalade rollin on 24s. Modern rap is as much of a joke today as hair metal became in the early 90s when any third rate band could get signed. Edited July 3, 200619 yr by mustang84
