Strange McDonald's marketing

Featured Replies

I was looking at McDonald's spread across the globe, and noticed this rather strange statement in the article:

"No two countries that both had McDonald's had fought a war against each other since each got its McDonald's"

Strange coincidence, but why would they say this?

Also their choice of when and where to expand seems rather odd. Countries to get McDonalds first:

1. US

2. Canada

3. Costa Rica

4. Japan

The UK even was way down the list...

hmmm... the solution to world peace:

It's not necessarily McDonalds but Western culture in general. Once other nations embrace the Western or American culture, the cultures become more alike and therefore, have fewer reasons to fight.

McDonalds is just one of the many Western things that has been exported with the culture across the globe.

I’m sure if McDonalds wasn’t so popular, another large corporation/store chain could fit easily into that theory.
