Name a car and an item that don't go together..... but *NOT* something that is routinely part of the car or a particular car design <glares at 68>.

For example.

An Aveo with a radar detector.

A corvette with a box of magnum XLs

Seen it... Well, actually it was a Pontiac Wave... sad no?

GMC Sierra 2500 w/ Duramax

I'll relegate this to inappropriate things I've actually seen.

400lb man in a Miata.

Exterior bicycle rack on an F-150.

Tercel with a spoiler.

Camper top on an Avalanche and a Sport Trac.

carraige roof on a 90s monte carlo

poorly done flat black paint job on an older acura legend

a 2000-2005 monte carlo on 26s

a camper top on an Avalanche and Sport Trac, how?

I guess they're called 'shells,' but yes.

Makes me wonder why you wouldn't just buy and Explorer/Suburban instead.

I've given a new name to any car that has gained 2ft of ground clearance due to 20" + wheels. Stump Jumpers because the car looks like it has 4WD and is about to go and jump stumps.....

On the same page, one of those actual slide in campers would be darn near impossible to fit in either one of those anyway.

Edited by MyerShift

Glad I wasn't alone there, because I thought they were actually talking about the slide-in campers that fit in the truck beds.

I...pray to Jesus... that that wasn't something you saw.

Like an American flag sticker on a toyota?

Sadly, I did see it-on the Capital Beltway one day driving home from my parents' office. I don't think that I've ever been so angry at anyone before...

carraige roof on a 90s monte carlo

Ohhhh...yes ... nailed that one, 04.

Heh...here in town, I see a 2000-2005 model with a carriage roof ... just looks so wrong. The body and rooflines to give a "natural" spot for the roof to being and end.....

Oh Jeez. I was following a pickup truck down the highway with a set of those under it. We were going about 60-65, but the air currents were making them swing ever-so-gently. I followed that damn truck for miles. Almost missed my exit. :AH-HA_wink:

In a perfect world:

American Car + FWD

Luxury cars + B-pillar

V8s + Transverse Mounted

Truck + Unibody

----------------

But all that aside, here's a few recent ones:

Ferrari + Orange Plaid Paint :puke:

FWD cars + huge F40 Ferrari Wings

Muscle Cars + fake hood scoops/brake cooling ducts

1992 Honda Civic HX + $7000 Stereo

Classic 1950s/1960s cars + body color paint on top of the chorme!

OK, if none of you saw those coming, you need to get on here more :P

I agree with you big time on that one. Especially cars like the tri-fives, the Impala, Camaro and Corvette. All those cars have their chrome tastefully applied from the factory. Painting the chrome is the last thing I'd do with those cars, but they seem to be the most popular candidates for such a customization.

Uh... does the white "Friend of Fast" sticker on a reverse light on my Millenia count? :P

1997 Chevrolet Lumina with sparkle purple paint job with flames and hood scoops. Driver looks to be a biker hard-ass with a mullet.

Saw a last-gen Avalon in metallic olive green with a beige fake convertible top, gold package, and a tacky wing. Everything else stock. Driven by a geezer.

Alright... this probably won't seem like it'll fit... but... a Buick Century driven by an old geezer. Now... the thing is... I was going about 90 and he flew by me... :P

You do know why it's called a Century, right Vipes? :AH-HA_wink:

A '69 Mustang Mach 1 hood scoop and rear wing on a Chrysler 300M.

A Honda 'H' and 'Type R' badges on a worn-out '80s Camaro IROC-Z.

A 'W04' Bush sticker on a Prius.

Chrysler badges misspelled "Chyrsler" on the side of a 2001 Sebring coupe.

corvette towing a jet ski (on a trailer)... yeah there are worse things though..

22 inch wheels on a B-body. The same wheels on a SUV. An import with an american flag. New cars with vinyl roofs.

I have seen I biker looking guy driving a Corolla. I have also seen a tuned up Honda Civic hatchback like a 97 and we were behind it at the traffic lights and we read the badges. He had Escalade badges on a Civic that wasnt painted so all of the parts were different body colours. My dumbass sister also decided to put HEMI badges on our 2004 Tahoe.

Ssssooo very true ... classic Sixty8, right there :).

Are you guys trying to say I'm predictable?

I'll have you know I just signed the lease on THIS

awsome T!GH+ W#1P this morning. I'm having a

roll cage welded in though becasue I don't think

the factory B-pillars offer nearly enough side impact

protection. What if I'm eating my BigMac while I'm

talking on a cell phone and I drop my sunglasses

while also trying to find a good song on the radio &

I run a red light when a Excursion is doing 70 mph

in a 45 and t-bones my little Prius?

I'm all about those thick, big B-pillars & 1700lbs. of

batteries stuffed into the floor.

Okay, all joking aside I'd love to own a Civic with a

Rocket 350 stuffed into it and all the emissions crap

deleted, hooked up to 4-on-the-floor that's bolted to

a solid rear & 14" wide Hoosiers.

and do what exactly, hit the gas and that engine will rip itself out through the front end of the car taking the 4-speed with it.

:lol:And our boy Sixty4 would love it, even after all that work putting it together. :)

So very true...

Although you know it's been done a hundred times, aluminum engine

cradle, tube chassis &/or subframe(s). Now that's using racing

technology on the street!

There's plenty of unibody $h!box Corollas/Hondas/J-bodys/Chevettes

that have had V8s stuffed in (even BBCs) and RWD conversions

where appropriate.

A certain bumper sticker and any Subaru.

Any ricemobile with a body kit and the rear seat removed to reduce weight.

I've got one I've been seeing for a few years now on several

local cars in the area. A Camry (usually an almost new one)

with a NASCAR sticker on the rear bumper/window.
