That rear styling is getting irritating. Remeber when you could tell cars apart?

Well, atleast the Accord is less ugly. The front still needs alot of work.

The S2000... Looks the same as last year's refresh. Still looks good, though.

I like the new rear... from the spy pics, I thought it'd look portly and Altima-like, but no, it's pretty sleek and is consistent with the Honda design language.

I do think that the new Accord could almost pass for a lexus, at least from the rear. Hmm....

Overall, better looking. More like the coupe in the rear, though the triangular wrap-around taillamp has gotten to be a very generic look.

The Accord and Impala have damn near the same profile...not cool. And Honda looks to be going for a more Miata-like style for the S2000, especially in the rear.

I think the new rear is an improvement, but man, those wedgy tailights are like an epidemic, they are everywhere! It's like the fins of our times. One day, they wil recall, "remember that wacky era of the wedgy?"

I still say spoilers are the tailfins of the 1990s. Fins were distinctive to say the least. Compare a 1959 Chevrolet to a Buick to a Studebaker to an Imperial to a Mercury to a Dodge. No similarities. Wedgelamps, however, are all the same.

definitely spoilers are the fins of our times....but man they just dont go away....I think they will always be with us.

It would be interesting to know what make had the first rear spoiler on a production car.

Well, I disagree. Spoilers have always been around... unlike tailfins. Remember the 60s and 70s muscle cars? Remember every F-body gen? They've been here and they are not going to disappear. Never. You just don't like them... So, get over it. Same with the rest of you.

Fins debuted on the '48 Cadillac and existed until the '99 DeVille - they've been around for a long time, too. But fins were most popular in the decade of the 1950s because virtually every car for sale by every manufacturer had tailfins.

Spoilers generally appeared on production cars in the late 60s/ early 70s, but then only on a relative handful of performance cars. Can you imagine a '76 Gran Fury with a spoiler? Exactly. They grew more popular in the 80s on sport trims of compacts, but by the mid-90s showed up on virtually every car, just like fins.

To clarify, I'm referring to factory or dealer-installed spoilers installed at the time the car was new. In fact, I think the only spoilerless cars were the Grand Marquis/Vic/Town Car, LS430, 7er, S-Class, and -'99 DeVille. Even minivans and SUVs had spoilers.
