tell me anything you know or of any vehicles you know of that fall under than name izuzu amigo

i am looking at it as a POS offroad vehicle along the same lines as the 2dr cherokee of years past but not spending as much money

any mechanical faults tips for customization for offroad or styling and convenience/ comfort would be helpful as well as testimonies of past owners etc

thank you in advance

Girlfriend has a Rodeo, same thing, more doors. It sucks, 4wd is a pain in the ass to engage and doesn't really do much to help get the POS moving in snow/mud/gravel/wet grass.

Had two friends with Amigos when I was a teen. They both loved them. You can hose out the interior and it's very versatile. Not sure about reliability though.

yah i was kinda planning a few inches of lift and then a body lift with some bigger tires . . . but i know i can get the hookups on the tires so its more the suspensinos for the rest . . . it just looked like a good vehicle for the application not real nice but also not too bad

did the V6 come after a certain year cuz i did a bit of research and they only had a 2.8 inline4 and a 2.2 inline4 ?

You must be looking at first gens, the lest gen (like 98+) had the 4 and V6, I know the Rodeo had a V6 in the 95-96 timeframe because my dad was looking into getting one, not sure about the Amigo.

ah alright . . . so it did have a V6 with at least a bit of power

i "was" looking at the 1st gens as in pre 94, i didnt know they were continued for so long. i like the body on the first gen better but really it doesnt matter if there is no V6 because its not for looks

so anyone with a rodeo got any advice as wel since it was i guess very very similair?

Ahhh hell, just go get a mid-70s K5, you'll be much happier, much easier to lift, much more power, and a hell of a lot more fun to bounce around off trees.

i cant afford the maintainance, gas or insurance on a K5 but thanks

and im getting the hookups on the lift its prolly gonna be either a 89 2dr cherokee (but its expensive to buy) or a 98 amigo or a 94 amigo (but it doesnt have the right kinda power)

two-door S10 Blazer?

ZR2 second gens are pretty nicely setup from what I have seen, they are definately packing some off road meats.
