July 20, 200619 yr Dudes, I'm getting a Dell. Yep, Windows has retained a user. It's a Dimension E510 desktop. Important specs: -Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 -Pentium D Processor 930 (Dual Core), 3.0 GHz -1 GB DDR2 SDRAM -250GB Serial ATA HD -128 PCI Express x16 ATI Radeon X300 SE video card -17" Analog flat panel monitor In short, it beats the hell out of my current rig. I was considering an iMac but this deal looked too good to pass up (plus, I'm curious about Windows Vista). I don't think I want a Mac as my main computer just yet. Maybe I'll get a MacBook in the future. It should be arriving next week.
July 20, 200619 yr Cool! I've been on a Dimension 5100 for about a year now and love it just as much as the day I got it..
July 20, 200619 yr Nice! I've been up in the air about what laptop I want... Considering a few brands....mac, Dell, Gateway, Sony... I just want a basic one for school when I go back..... THough my next Pc will prob be a dell...
July 20, 200619 yr I'm getting a Dell laptop for school, the D820: http://www.dell.com/content/products/compa...s=04&l=en&s=bsd The tech people at my dad's work said it was really good and they could get it for a good price, so I guess that's what I'm getting.
July 20, 200619 yr Author I think what I'm looking forward to the most is being able to have DVR-like capability that the OS offers. I've wanted that for the longest.
July 20, 200619 yr Meh. I heard that Dell batteries explode on aeroplanes. And a buddy of mine had a Dimension and for the first year he kept saying how much my sh!tastic IBM sucked. Well, his Dimension started effing up, and now he has a Sony laptop. The IBM is 7/8 years old, and my family uses it daily. My Toshiba laptop has Media Center Edition, and it kicks ass. Just on a whim, I had it DVR a months worth of South Park with a couple clicks.
