Ordered my new computer...

Dudes, I'm getting a Dell. 8)

Yep, Windows has retained a user. It's a Dimension E510 desktop.

Important specs:

-Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005

-Pentium D Processor 930 (Dual Core), 3.0 GHz

-1 GB DDR2 SDRAM

-250GB Serial ATA HD

-128 PCI Express x16 ATI Radeon X300 SE video card

-17" Analog flat panel monitor

In short, it beats the hell out of my current rig. I was considering an iMac but this deal looked too good to pass up (plus, I'm curious about Windows Vista). I don't think I want a Mac as my main computer just yet. Maybe I'll get a MacBook in the future.

It should be arriving next week. :ohyeah:

Cool! I've been on a Dimension 5100 for about a year now and love it just as much as the day I got it..

Nice!

I've been up in the air about what laptop I want...

Considering a few brands....mac, Dell, Gateway, Sony...

I just want a basic one for school when I go back..... :)

THough my next Pc will prob be a dell...

I think what I'm looking forward to the most is being able to have DVR-like capability that the OS offers. I've wanted that for the longest. :pbjtime:

Meh. I heard that Dell batteries explode on aeroplanes.

And a buddy of mine had a Dimension and for the first year he kept saying how much my sh!tastic IBM sucked. Well, his Dimension started effing up, and now he has a Sony laptop. The IBM is 7/8 years old, and my family uses it daily.

My Toshiba laptop has Media Center Edition, and it kicks ass. Just on a whim, I had it DVR a months worth of South Park with a couple clicks.

Your Tosh must be a high end one then.... :)

I can't afford a really sweet one for a while....just a more basic one... :(

hope you like it, and nothing goes wrong w/ it... hate for you to have to go through customer service in india... there be bad stories floating around on the internet when it's not just a simple issue.
