2006 GM Daewoo Gentra

Featured Replies

Yep, it's the next Aveo. Does anyone know when we're actually going to see it here? Autonews says it comes in the 2008 MY but that could be January 2007 or fall 2007.
So will GM replace the name in the states as well?
No, it debuted in China (?) as the (Chevy) Aveo earlier, Gentra must be the name of the Daewoo version of the Aveo currently being made?

But look... this car isn't really for people who are looking for fancy rides in the first place.

I think it's fine for its market. Don't forget it's competing against Echos.
Actually, it's competing against the new Yaris which offers a lot for the sub-compact market.
It it still has the same current engine it aint worth it.. the Aveo gets 35 mpg!! wth!! the malibu gets better milage..

As long as the Chinese buy them like hot cakes I don't care. They fill a void in the US, that's about it.

Still has the tacked-in grill. If I were a betting man, Id say this is the next Pontiac Wave for Canada.

Yay.

Why does Daewoo always change names? I don't get it...so this will be the next Pontiac Wave in Canada too, right?

why does GM have to tarnish Pontiac, with a damn compact!? Pontiac is supposed to be GM's version of BMW... wtf is there a ecconomy car there... i see no excitment in a 1.6l 107 hp compact car... sure the car looks better then other cars in the segment, but leave it to chevrolet, and hell give saturn a version, but it doesnt fit pontiac's image...
