1993 Black Buick Riviera

Awww... and I liked that generation too! I was just admiring a last gen Riviera on the road yesterday--they were just so beautiful.

It's not even a bad price considering what it offers... but now is just not the time. Besides, I'm looking for a newer car when I get one

Thats priced steep but would be hard for me to resist, 2 months ago, in its proper price range. That $5900 range is for nearly mint final generation Rivs. I wonder if the few remaining examples of these generations will have a bit of value in 20 years ? To the right person I suppose..........or will no one care because there is no more gasoline ?

I agree... it doesn't look like it came from anywhere else but USA. It also looks very "Buick.'

However, I'd have to get rid of the wheels, and buy some OEM wheels.

That's pretty clean.. those AR wheels are nasty though... And I perfer the last gen if I were to buy one. When I was shopping for cars a few months ago I had almost bought bought a buddys 93 Regal coupe but his dad was on the fence to sell it or not.

Your right Ven, I should have said So American, so Buick. It all Buick too, nothin but class. These cars really effect me, raked wedgy hood and windshield, wrap around bumpers. sloped rear panel reminicent of 63-65. Thick roof, it all just works well together. I know there are fellow Buick people that do not like this car but it all works out well in my eyes. This 93 would have the 170/230 L27 engine too, the one in my 91 Regal was a charm

Im not sure Im crazy about the factory wheels for these either, werent they multi finned tubine type. Wheels would be a hard call, maybe real chrome spokes would be appropriate ?

This car is a jewel in the vast desert of brown sand we've seen since the early 90's.

Sorry, but that particular bodystyle of Riviera reminds me too much of the Chrysler TC by Maserati and "rich Corinthian leather".

Ah, that Chrysler TC was grotesque and so not classy, no comparision. It was a glorified Lebaron and the Lebaron may have been acceptable on certain days of the week (those on which I didnt need to be seen driving anywhere).

The only Rivs I never liked were 79-85 but amazingly they were the hottest selling Rivieras. They were also first of the FWD Rivieras. Sold like hotcakes in the good old USA, land of the RWD landyaht. Doesnt make any sence does it? Well, they were still landyahts and in the age of the comming of FWD at a time when people were tired of having problems in the winter, so perhaps this had something to do with it.

There's a girl at my college with a supercharged Light Adriatic Blue metallic '95 that I looked at before she ever got it from her father; I bug them on a regular basis about selling it to me when she's all done with it. Hopefully some day I'll get that phone call I've been waiting for and be able to add another one of 'em to my fleet. I'd love to have a beater Riviera and keep my Bright White Diamond one nice.

A few months ago, my aunt and I had gone out west a ways to check for some family graves in a graveyard and stopped on the way back home in Mt Morris IL to see some friends. There was a "beater" (and I use that term loosely) 1995 Riviera ... that darkish tan color ... for sale for (iirc) $2900. Almost bought it, but opted against it ... something just didn't seem right.....
