TOKYO -(Dow Jones)- Toyota Motor Corp. (7203.TO) said Tuesday that it' recalling 206,388 units of its Corolla Verso model that it produced at a plant in Turkey due to a faulty switch that can manually control the operation of the front seat airbag.

The vehicles being recalled were produced between January 2004 and May 2006 and sold in Europe, Africa and other regions. No accidents were reported due to the faulty switch, a Toyota spokeswoman said.

With the faulty switch, the front seat airbag may open even as if the airbag switch is turned off.

Wow. This is getting to be a party.

I really just hope that Toyota gains some mediocrity from these recalls and loses it's subtle "holier than thou" message. Then maybe I'll regain some respect for them.

The July from Hell strikes Toyota again...

wow. this has got to be embarassing for them.

I'd be fine if they rot and die.

let's hope the new Tundra is three or four times as recall worthy.

Response from people if this had been GM: "Typical."

Response from people now that all of this is happening to Toyota: "Typical."

Level playing field? Not by a long shot. Ignorance is a difficult thing to change, and the Toyota-humpers would sooner deny-deny-deny until the car falls apart around them.

But this is in Europe so it's ok!

Toyota spokeman: "Nothing to see here, please move on. Everything is taken care of, remember we are the best and care the most about our customers! Everyone else is evil and uses witchcraft to make their cars not need recalls. We are just human so it's ok. Here's a free coupon for free popcorn, does that make you happy? Thank you, come again."
