Spied: 2007 Nissan Sentra SE-R

Posted Image

The SE-R has always represented the best the Nissan Sentra had to offer. The current Sentra generation added a "Spec V" package for even more sport and power. These days thogh, the SE-R Sentra lags behind most newer competition. The upcoming Sentra SE-R aims to be a heavy contender once again, going toe-to-toe most directly with the Jetta GLI. No word on if they will be a "Spec V" this time around but the photos look promising.

The ION styling was ahead of its time. Too bad it didn't have the Cobalt's refinements.

I know, I see a mini-Maxima on the new Sentra, I like how you guys are so quick to jump and say that all auto makers are copying GM.

Darn... even the fuel cap is in the same location...

OMG your right!!! it must be an exact replica!!!!! LMFAO

I really, REALLY don't see this car selling to the tuner crowd like the previous model.

The SE-R looks pretty stodgy.

The first thing that came to my mind was Saturn but not because of the greenhouse similarities. Those rims look mighty similar to ones Saturn had/has.

I do not think this will attract a tuner/performance sport compact crowd because the overall exterior design is too upscale. I think it will look nice but not as a sporty compact.

Yuck...Nissan normally makes pretty attractive looking cars, but this is a fugly shape. It looks like someone took a Maxima and smooshed it in a vice grip.

Maybe it will look better in real life, cause those pictures look pretty bad. It looks like something GM would design a few years ago, or what a Korean designer would be shooting for right now.

Altima was new in fall 2001, 2 years before the Ion.

So actaully Ion is the copy cat.

Yet neither look like each other, or even share much of the same similarities while the new Versa sedan and Sentra do appear IONesque. Odd when you consider it.

Maybe it is just the angles that I see it-but it doesn't look that bad to me.

Then again-I haven't seen it in person yet either....

maybe some day the Ion will be enshrined in the halls of the most hallowed cars ever.

Well ok, but I doubt it's going to get into any halls of fame. I think the Ford Pinto has a bigger chance of that happening.

At least it went out with a Bang.

wow with styling like this....perhaps this will finally put the Sentra to rest.... :scratchchin:

The interesting thing is it was spotted testing on the Autobahn.

Wasn't the old L300 tested on the Nuerburgring?
