August 2, 200619 yr Ok, so my new computer has a reccomended screen setting of 1680 x 1050 pixels, and most stuff look fine, except that some stuff (pics, smilies) appear slightly pixelated. I probably have to change the Internet settings somewhere, but if someone would tell me instead of me wasting my time looking, then I'd appreciate it.
August 2, 200619 yr On Windows XP, go to Start >> Control Panel >> Appearance and Themes >> Change the screen resolution
August 2, 200619 yr Author Oh, I already did that. It still makes it pixelated, the pictures are just bigger.
August 2, 200619 yr Northie, try right-clicking on the desktop background and choosing "properties". Then, Go over to the "Settings" tab and move the Screen Resolution slider all the way to the right.
August 2, 200619 yr Author That's where it is, Z. It's weird because everything has perfect graphics except for the Internet (not just C&G).
August 2, 200619 yr In the same box, do you have your color setting set to something greater than 256 colors?
August 2, 200619 yr Author It's set on the highest it will go, but it only goes to 32? I didn't notice that before. However, I did "advanced" and it had the DPI set on 125%, so I changed it to 100% thinking that might help. I have to restart before it takes effect so we shall see if that worked.
August 2, 200619 yr the 125% thing prolly will do it...here's the thing though: firefox as a browser fixes the issue...internet explorer always has had it, especially with the DPI thing. stupid micro$oft
August 2, 200619 yr http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;820286 That explains it. Basically Windows does not natively support 120dpi, it only supports 96dpi. On webpages especially, it tries to expand the graphics to 120dpi. The DPI generally comes defaulted at 120 because notebook monitors generally come equipped with high resolution monitors coupled with a smaller screen size.
