August 12, 200619 yr 1. What was the name of the concept built around 2001 that predated the (concept and production) 300C's styling? 2. What was Willam Durant's middle name? 3. What concept car was supposed to be built in the AMC Gremlin's place? Photos required for Question 1 and Question 3. Good luck. Edited August 12, 200619 yr by YellowJacket894
August 13, 200619 yr Was this too difficult? C'mon. Someone has to know at least one of those three questions.
August 13, 200619 yr Two is correct. Good job WMJ. Now, as for the other two, here are hints. Hint for Question 1: The Chronos predated this styling study made before the Concept 300C. Hint for Question 3: This car used the AMX moniker. (That is a dead giveaway with some research.)
August 13, 200619 yr I think you mean the 300 Hemi C Convertible from 2000 for Q1. I thought this was pretty sweet when it came out.
August 13, 200619 yr Harley nailed Question 3 in his second post. As for Question 1, I was thinking of a sedan...
August 13, 200619 yr If it's the concept I'm thinking of, it's rarely seen (at least by me). It looks a lot like the production car though. I can't think of the name of it.
August 13, 200619 yr I love most retro and LOVE hardtops but this one never grew on me much. Too goofy and cartoonish. Not a very flattering reinterpretation of the 1950s at all.
August 13, 200619 yr Oh, and also: Crapo is correct. No joke, I'm sure WMJ knows this but I thought I'd mention that for those who might think he was just being sarcastic.
August 13, 200619 yr Nope, Sixty-8. I wasn't thinking of the Hemi-8, although it was a precursor to the Magnum. Blu-man is on the right track. Now, if someone could just find at least the name, they'd have the question correct... Edited August 13, 200619 yr by YellowJacket894
August 16, 200619 yr Chronos has certainly stood the test of time. Ha. A stunner, and exactly what the new Imperial should be, if it is built. I am going to be so pissed when this question is answered because it is on the tip of my tongue.
August 18, 200619 yr The Chronos as the Imparial? Great idea O.B. I'd much rahter see that than the Imperial concept... That thing is fugly.
August 18, 200619 yr I'm with you there Sixty8- Chronos is sublime, the concept Imperial is fairly awful. >>"Oh, and also: Crapo is correct. No joke..."<< I was under this false impression, too, but the name is pronounced "Cray-po".
