It fits very well together, actually, that face and the truck-bed.

That's a project I've always thought about doing, and I've seen pics of a few that were done.

Here's an Oldsamino

They really exist?!!!

I've never seen one!

Caddies:

I've seen one of these in person!

A few years ago, one was sitting for sale in Mt Morris IL. VERY COOL to see in person ;).

And, love the pics of the other variants, too ... he he he.

I'm trying to find more, but I can't! I know there is -- or once was -- an entire site on this conversion.. They even said it's a popular conversion in Europe. Grrrrr.

Ok...now I might have to backtrack....I'm trying to find info and there is virtually none...I may be mistaken. I'll check further. I was sure I'd seen them here.

Sadly, I'm fairly sure that GM Canada didn't build any. My radar is tuned to such things and I've never heard anything about them being built. I have often wondered about the possibility though.

I'd love to be wrong. :AH-HA_wink:

Wow... those are all cool, some less attractive than others.

If I win the Lottery I'll get a rough 1959 Buick with a good nose

and rearrange the sheetmetal to make a Flower car. Then I'll

trade Balthazar the final product straight up for his Flathead

powered "Duel" style COE. :D

Here's a '66 GTO Camino 4X4:

I really like that Oldsamino!

If you ignore the 4x4 part of this one, it's really amazing how well the '66 GTO nose works with the '68-72 Camino body. It took some welding/bodywork skills to do that. Those fenders are made from a combination of the Camino and GTO fenders grafted together. This isn't just a bolt-on.

Man! Do I love Phantoms!

Clones suck, but Phantoms really do it for me.

And one that almost made production:

I can't seem to find it right now, but I remember seeing a concept El Camino (possibly not by GM directly) based on the 00-05 Impala.

I heard of this too, it was seen around the Tech Center around Autoshow time...... I guess it was wishful thinking to see it there.

Thanks for the pics! I love that car, I want it if it ever goes up for auction.

The FWD Impala/Camino and the FWD Monte/Camino were both SEMA cars not GM cars. The MC version was on ebay recently (no buyer).
