August 21, 200619 yr That's a project I've always thought about doing, and I've seen pics of a few that were done. Here's an Oldsamino
August 21, 200619 yr Author CaminoLS6?....you are probably aware of the Canadian Pontiac Beaumont El Caminos?
August 21, 200619 yr CaminoLS6?....you are probably aware of the Canadian Pontiac Beaumont El Caminos? 182759 They really exist?!!! I've never seen one!
August 21, 200619 yr Caddies: I've seen one of these in person! A few years ago, one was sitting for sale in Mt Morris IL. VERY COOL to see in person . And, love the pics of the other variants, too ... he he he. August 21, 200619 yr I'm trying to find more, but I can't! I know there is -- or once was -- an entire site on this conversion.. They even said it's a popular conversion in Europe. Grrrrr.
August 21, 200619 yr Author They really exist?!!! I've never seen one! 182760 Ok...now I might have to backtrack....I'm trying to find info and there is virtually none...I may be mistaken. I'll check further. I was sure I'd seen them here.
August 21, 200619 yr Ok...now I might have to backtrack....I'm trying to find info and there is virtually none...I may be mistaken. I'll check further. I was sure I'd seen them here. 182781 Sadly, I'm fairly sure that GM Canada didn't build any. My radar is tuned to such things and I've never heard anything about them being built. I have often wondered about the possibility though. I'd love to be wrong. :AH-HA_wink:
August 21, 200619 yr Wow... those are all cool, some less attractive than others. If I win the Lottery I'll get a rough 1959 Buick with a good nose and rearrange the sheetmetal to make a Flower car. Then I'll trade Balthazar the final product straight up for his Flathead powered "Duel" style COE.
August 21, 200619 yr Here's a '66 GTO Camino 4X4: I really like that Oldsamino! 182753 If you ignore the 4x4 part of this one, it's really amazing how well the '66 GTO nose works with the '68-72 Camino body. It took some welding/bodywork skills to do that. Those fenders are made from a combination of the Camino and GTO fenders grafted together. This isn't just a bolt-on. Man! Do I love Phantoms! Clones suck, but Phantoms really do it for me.
August 21, 200619 yr I remember seeing one that's based on the pre-refreshed current gen Monte Carlo...
August 21, 200619 yr When I was 13 or so, I saw a flower car based off a '95 Cirrus. I thought I was seeing things.
August 21, 200619 yr I can't seem to find it right now, but I remember seeing a concept El Camino (possibly not by GM directly) based on the 00-05 Impala.
August 21, 200619 yr And one that almost made production: 182769 The Heritage Center had this on display last week, i got a ton of pics.....
August 21, 200619 yr I can't seem to find it right now, but I remember seeing a concept El Camino (possibly not by GM directly) based on the 00-05 Impala. 183048 I heard of this too, it was seen around the Tech Center around Autoshow time...... I guess it was wishful thinking to see it there.
August 21, 200619 yr Thanks for the pics! I love that car, I want it if it ever goes up for auction. The FWD Impala/Camino and the FWD Monte/Camino were both SEMA cars not GM cars. The MC version was on ebay recently (no buyer).
August 21, 200619 yr Author It's great to see all you pickup car fans....I love them. Some of these I've probably posted before: Cadillac Seville Pickup:
August 21, 200619 yr Author I like the imagery of this ad. The ranch. You of course need a pickup car to do chores!
August 22, 200619 yr i remember seeing that grand camino in GM High Tech Performance a few months back... in my area theres an el camino with a GTO/Judge nose on it, and it looks great
August 22, 200619 yr The Heritage Center had this on display last week, i got a ton of pics..... Sweet ... that had to have been cool to see in person! Thanks for sharing the pics. And, sorry didn't meet you while I was in Detroit a week ago Sunday.
