August 23, 200619 yr I like how they went so far as to tape a Chevy badge on the GMC. I couldn't figure out what the hell they did to the Tahoe to make it look like that, and then I read the article and was like, "Duh!" I like the grill on the Tahoe, though.
August 23, 200619 yr That Tahoe is a hybrid. Look at how it matches the concept from the autoshow. They both have slighly different grilles, slab sides, and even the same rims on the tires. I can't begin to understand why they would put a Chevy badge on a Yukon but you can tell that it's a Hybrid when looking at the sides. Also, the grille is much larger then the current model and much closer in shape to the GMC concepts that we've seen over the past few years. So, it could also be a design refresh. August 23, 200619 yr I have to say, I LOVE the GMT900's... they're everywhere, and they're beautiful and classy. I think this hybrid is going to be a big seller.
August 23, 200619 yr The one with the trailer looks like a GMC... Look at the headlights. 183922 Anyone have the details on the Hybrid 2 mode system? MPG?
August 23, 200619 yr Anyone have the details on the Hybrid 2 mode system? MPG? 183965 here's the answer to my own question; about 25% increase with active cylinder management combined with hybrid tech; http://www.autoblog.com/2006/01/09/detroit...y-tahoe-hybrid/
August 23, 200619 yr you are all going to hate me - but I love the wheels on the Tahoe. These are really nice trucks - if you have not driven one - go do it. I have an 07 and tell anyone I can to buy one. They are phenominal.
August 23, 200619 yr Also, the lack of the roof rack makes me think hybrids. For aerodynamic improvements, the roof racks will be deleted on production hybrids. -D
August 23, 200619 yr Yeah, cuz the taped-on bowtie on the GMC will fool anyone who knows their trucks for more than 5 seconds...I would love to know what they were thinking. The GMC DOES look better than the standard ones, grill makes it look less wimpy, but I'd still take a Tahoe first.
August 23, 200619 yr What are the chances that the second "Chevy" is really an Escalade and not a GMC?
August 23, 200619 yr Yeah, this hybrid Yukon looks so much better. The regular one is all wide-eyed and smiling like a stupid bastard lol. However, with the tape on its headlights, it reminds me of a Ford for some reason..
August 23, 200619 yr Cool-another great T900. I really hope GM gives these body-colored door-handles and either puts new wheels on them or gives us another choice-these are rather ugly.
August 24, 200619 yr I like what they did with the GMC grille. Its much nicer then the non-Hybrid. 183989 they are probably doing this to test a tahoe with a 6.2 or afm on the 6.2... or hybrid with the 6.2... whatever... i imagine there is some part of the Yukon that is kept with that concept... if thats what it is...
August 24, 200619 yr What are the chances that the second "Chevy" is really an Escalade and not a GMC? 184018 probably pretty good considering the 7 spoke
August 24, 200619 yr Putting the Chevy badge on the Yukon, do they think they'll fool people to not know that it is the Yukon Hybrid?
August 24, 200619 yr Putting the Chevy badge on the Yukon, do they think they'll fool people to not know that it is the Yukon Hybrid? 184342 No... they probably think they're pretty funny though.
August 24, 200619 yr Yeah, why in the hell would they put a chevy badge on a GMC yukon that's actually an Escalade? That would make absolutely no sense considering the fact that the Escalade is much more then a Yukon/Tahoe with different sheetmetal.
August 25, 200619 yr Yeah, why in the hell would they put a chevy badge on a GMC yukon that's actually an Escalade? That would make absolutely no sense considering the fact that the Escalade is much more then a Yukon/Tahoe with different sheetmetal. 184437 haha my thoughts exactly...
August 25, 200619 yr probably pretty good considering the 7 spoke 184317 Nah. It's a Yukon. Look at the headlamp clusters. But a Hybrid Escalade would be a good idea. It could give Caddy an edge over those yuppies at Lexus.
August 25, 200619 yr Why do the hybrids lose there bodyside moldings? Hopefully GM isn't catching this disease from Toyota!
August 25, 200619 yr Why do the hybrids lose there bodyside moldings? Hopefully GM isn't catching this disease from Toyota! 184832 Could it have anything to do with aerodynamics? I can't imagine there being much wind resistance from side mouldings though
August 25, 200619 yr These trucks are a 21st century equivelant of the 19th century Conestoga Wagons ...so the wheels are a reflection of that.
August 26, 200619 yr The rear bumper on the white Tahoe looks wierd..more squared off than normal...uglified.
August 26, 200619 yr The rear bumper on the white Tahoe looks wierd..more squared off than normal...uglified. 185073 aerodynamics. whatever it takes to increase the fuel economy. it looks practically identical to the Hybrid Tahoe concept.
August 26, 200619 yr What are the odds that the Yukon with the bigger grill is actually a diesel test truck?
August 26, 200619 yr What are the odds that the Yukon with the bigger grill is actually a diesel test truck? 185172 good question! however, lutz or someone did say the grilles on the GMT-900 hybrids would have to be MUCH larger to cool the batteries, etc
August 26, 200619 yr The "Chevy" Yukon has a slightly different hood than the standard Yukon, too: -RBB
