September 13, 200520 yr I can only shake my head and sigh. First there was the Equinox Then there was the Torrent. Now the Grand Vitara. I am sure GM must have some logical reason that Suzuki should get a version of the hottest selling Chevy to have come out in years. Please tell me there is. Did Suzuki badger and cajole GM? Did they threaten? Is there some legal reason that GM has to hand the keys to the Equinox over to them? Isn't it bad enough that the Verona and Swift + are already cross-shopped? I can only weep for the future of this company. Clearly, nobody in Detroit gets it. Hyundai and Kia are no longer bit players, let alone Suzuki. This can only serve to further cheapen and erode the once proud Chevrolet name.

It is a totally-Japanese/Suzuki developed RWD-based chassis with a mix of unibody, and a ladder-box frame. Additionally, the GV utilizes the familiar Suzuki-designed 2.7L DOHC 24V V6 of 185hp that's been in the current XL-7. Rumor has it that the new XL-7, however, will be a stretched VUE/Equinox/Torrent to accomodate a third-row of seats. I believe this SUV is due as an '07 or '08 model from Suzuki.
September 14, 200520 yr I saw a couple GV commercials today so it looks like Suzuki is getting the word out there. I love the car...it looks great, has a nice interior, good warranty and is packed with standard features for a reasonable price.
September 16, 200520 yr I thought that the Theta was strecthed for the Nox and Trent and will be the platform for the XL -7? Edited September 16, 200520 yr by BlkHhr104
