In the next few weeks I'm going to post 59 different trivia questions

of all different forms on C&G. Multiple choice, photo identification,

photo match up & even some true or false. Some questions will be

multiple part and others a simple one word answer.

At the end of the 59 individual trivia thread questions all the winners

will be added up and a trophy will be mailed via the USPS to the

over all winner of the first annual Tight Whips Trivia Trophy.

Name these three cars. Manufacturer & Model Year is good enough.

If you'd like to elaborate about their interesting specifications feel

free... they're pretty unique by any standards.

I'm not willing to do the research so here's my wild-ass guess.

Top to Bottom

Bugatti

Duesenberg

Citroen

Great effort Camino.

You're right about the Doozie of course.

The top one is not a Bugatti Royale or any other Bugatti & the

bottom one is not a Citroen allthough you got the country of

origin correct on the last (bottom) one.

This seems to be a bit too hard so here's two hints:

The top one is not a Jaguar but it does have ties to Jaguar in

a three degrees of separation kind of way. It's IMO one of

the most gorgeous British cars ever... one of one, coachbuilt.

Now as far as the bottom one, it's got ties to WWI Aircraft &

the car is currently in the collection of the Cussler Museum.

That makes it easy for anyone willing to spend 27 sec. or so

on Google or AltaVista.

After seeing AR's guess, he is correct on the top one.

Now I am curious about the 3 degrees of separation comment.

Daimler was owned by Jaguar. The year is very hard to find since its a one off. It is owned now by the Crainville Coachbuilding Company. There are also two Daimler companies as well. The British Daimler Car Company and the German one associated with Mercedes Benz. Daimler was bought by Jaguar in 1960 and were formed under the British Leyland Motor Company. They went their separate ways in 1982 but when Ford bought Jaguar in 1989, htey had the right to use the Daimler name. They produced some cars based on Jaguars until 2002 when the new XJ came out. Jaguar used the Super 8 name for its Jaguar models and one 2002 Daimler Super 8 was built for The Queen. Daimler was then revived in 2005 after being gone for 3 years.

Avions-Voisin & the 1-of-1 coach built 1930 Daimler V12.
