Leather wrapped steering wheel

Featured Replies

Suppose I get one of the cars which cheap, conservative and cautious Trinacriabob drools over (LaCrosse, Grand Prix or Monte Carlo). I then don't order the BIG option package with everything in it but still want the feel of the leather wrapped wheel. (Trust me, from rentals I've had, it makes for a different driving sensation than the urethane wheel).

Is there a way to add this feature (leather wrapped wheel a la factory) without pulling the steering wheel off or at least doing it after the fact with some amount of ease? I would we willing to let the dealer do it.

Let me know if you have any ideas/opinions.

Wheelskins. They make many different sizes for just about any wheel you can find, and they fit great. The only problem might be if you get a colored cover, it will wear out after a couple years, depending on how careful you are with it. Here's one on my GTP (don't seem to have a close-up, hmm):

They fit great and fatten up the wheel a bit, very comfortable. About $40 at Wheelskins, sometimes cheaper on ebay. HTH

I dont know Bob, adding leather over stock wheel will make fatter wheel. THe leather wheels are thinner before wrapping......I believe IN other words I thik both are the same finished diameter.

I say, your older now, successful and get great lasting durability from your cars.................live a little, spoil yourself................CXS is the only car for you ! I know you hate to leave the 3800, I was but I did. A 3.6 would probably last you well over 200,000 miles as well.

How much for the Regal......?................
