Yes, that may have been the only year the name was used on that generation, but the Sixty Special name was used decades before, over a relatively long period. Wasn't the first year the 1938 Harley Earl icon?

That's all well and good, but catagorically the car is still a Pontiac Trans Am as opposed to something else. A base 6-cyl Firebird has as many differences between it and a T/A as a T/A and a TTA, doesn't it?

Wasn't the opening question 'what model or nameplate lasted only 1 year' or something very similar? I agree that the TTA is MORESO a (powertrain)/trim package on a multi-year, same-basic-model car than a unique model in & of itself.

Yes. And Sixty YOU even said that the turbocharged Trans Am is the "fastest Trans Am ever," stating that it is still a version fo the Trans Am. It's still a Pontiac Firebird trim level...perhaps the very top, but still a trim level.

Speakning of the 1976 Plymouth Trailduster how

about the Bicentenial Edition I saw on ebay once. :P

Does not fit the technical definition of the question but the

1963 Corvette (split-window) coupe was a one year only

design. the 1980 Oldsmobile Cutlass 2-door had a one

year only nose, different from 1979 & 1981.

I will build upon yours 68 - the 1980 442 was a one year only model (or perhaps model package) being that there was no '79 and no '81 442...

I wouldn't consider the '80 Cutlass (or Regal or Monte Carlo) front end to be significant--just a rather trivial 4-headlight and grille change from '78-79.

Was the fastback 4-4-2 a '78-only model? Because I know for sure there was a '78.

Hmm... that's one cool Dodge.

Shortest lived marque (in recent memory), the Canadian GEO for P-B-GMC dealers: Asuna. Inclusive, all of its models (Sunrunner, Sunfire, and SE/GT).

Existed for one year, so every Asuna is a 1992 model.

Love the Asuna Sunfire, heh.

Actually, '93 was the only year for Asuna, but good call nonetheless.
