The new Mercedes S-series, Edward Lapham made an interesting observation, it borrows from the 'Bangle Butt' look from BMW. He's right, I had not noticed that.

It may look similar, but it's much better done and doesn't look offensive like the BMWs.

It does look very similar to the 7-series; the interior is a complete ripoff though.

It's facinating, in that the Bangle BMWs were so controversial and yet some are adopting similar designs. Personally I liked all of Bangle's work at BMW and ever more so.

The Bangle bustle has been univerally derided. I don't know why Mercedes, Toyota (Avalon), Acura (RL), and Hyundal (Azera) have adopted the styling theme.
