no, it's prolly not that light... my 99 monte's 3.1 gets 19 -20 typically and i rarely drive it hard.... hardly ever above 3k rpm.. more like ~2.4K and i know how to keep it w/ just enough gas at 30 mph to keep the trans locked and moving at little under 1500rpm even up some hills..

not sure how the aura's geared, but i bet one could get 21..maybe 22 out of it around town.... talking the 3.5L right?

    both the 3.5 and 3.6 are rated 20mpg city. The car is heavy - like 3700lbs. Next gen needs a diet, IMO.
