Honda Unveils the Production Civic Type R

The new Type R continues to be powered by the naturally-aspirated, high-revving 2.0-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine but the unit has been significantly reworked to improve responsiveness using a new balancer shaft and drive-by-wire throttle control. VTEC variable valve timing and VTC variable inlet camshaft technology continue to underpin the engine structure.

Further development of the Type R unit means more useable torque, as the switch to high-lift, long duration valve timing (the cam change) now takes place at a lower 5,200rpm, and continues all the way to 8,000rpm. So that screaming, high rpm VTEC range is broader and more accessible.

You forgot the "ly" and instead added an extra "g" :scratchchin:

But I'd agree if you had spelled it right. :AH-HA_wink:

yet another hatchback has managed to infest the world with its ugly "please think i look sporty" attitude... when will manufacturers realize that there is NOTHING sporty about a shoebox? please... someone stop this terrifying trend... before my brain explodes

Ah. A Fila sneaker. It'll cost -- what? Two-fifty in change for a pair new?

Ugh.

At least it ain't coming out here. The moisture from the riceboys' tears sustains me.

when will we see the ..."5thgear"? been a while...? on this hitting the street...lol

speaking of, anyone seen anything good from that show lately?, i've not kept up w/ it

Love the front and interior design. The back needs major work, I've never liked that spoiler sitting down on the window like that. If it was raised up to the roofline I think it would look less like a car-sized egg. I read in Europe though, they love the boldness of the new Civic hatchback.

I think it looks really cool...

This is a nice looking car. A little toned down from the Concept. I think they hit the mark right on. That interior is very nice too.

I'm sure they will have a Top Gear episode before long with this in it. They will probably complain about how it isn't faster or much faster than the last model. I think Honda could have used a 2.2L in it with 220hp quite easily, and probably should have.

Hondas are getting uglier by the day. :puke:
