September 15, 2006 – Torrance, CA - Scion, of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., announced today that the xA Release Series 3.0 will arrive at dealer showrooms beginning in October.

The 2006 xA Release Series 3.0 will come in a stunning Stingray Metallic light blue exterior paint and offer unique exterior and interior enhancements. Standard features include front and rear KenStyle® ground effects, Release Series wheel covers, color-tuned seat fabric and a rear spoiler.

This xA is also satellite-radio ready and comes with a paid three-month subscription to XM Radio, wherever XM service is available. A keyless Scion Security System with a radar intrusion sensor helps protect this highly-equipped xA. Individual numbered badging completes the uniqueness of this vehicle.

Only 2,100 units of the xA Release Series 3.0 will be built. The xA Release Series 3.0 model will carry a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1,840 over the base price of the xA. The base MSRP for the xA starts at $12,780.

I say we all petition Toyota to change the name of the "Stingray Metallic" paint or replace it all together. Hey... they pulled the Celica "Tsunami" edition a couple years back... why won't this work?

It looks stupid/ugly... And this "3.0" bull-ish is kinda stupid as well. It makes the people who bought the 2.0 versions instantly look poor, like they need to upgrade in order to keep up with the times.

Actually, when I think about that, it's kinda funny.

The American public love them. I doubt Fit and Versa would be here if not for Scion's success.

I'll wait until Version 3.1 comes out, and they have all the bugs fixed. I hope it doesn't crash as much as Windows....

Or better yet, they will gradually find the door locks aren't fastened properly at the factory. They send out bottles of superglue on the second Tuesday of each month to the owners, and call them "service packs". :P

The Fit and Versa was because the lower priced Koreans, and the increasing gas prices. You really need to put of that thought that Toyota is the king of this world or something. It just makes you look naive.

oh man, I remember 3.1...sucked hard :P

Maybe they'll but a Control/Alt/Delete setup on it so you can reset this thing.
