2008 Hyundai VeraCruz

Featured Replies

I saved the best for last.

In a strange twist to get people to look at the Hyundai tent (I assume), A camoflauged 2008 VeraCruz mule pulled into the Barrie Auto Show.

Several of the students (its a student run show), scrambled to find out what was going on. I heard one say "does head office know that thing is here!?"

The small SUV prototype was driven by a husband and wife team, with a small child.

Kris started snapping pics as soon as we spotted it. As we approached, the lady said that if we wanted to have a look inside, we'd better hurry. The glass was deep tinted.

Later in the day, a security guard was posted to the vehicle.

Chris Doane, eat your heart out!

"Small"? Looks pretty big to me. Isn't this the biggest Hyundai passenger vehicle ever?

I'd be hard-pressed to tell what kind of vehicle I was in if there were no markings. The interior is so similar to so many other vehicles out now.

Wow... that interior is nice.

That's a very upscale looking interior. I hate the name.

This vehicle goes to show why Toyota is afraid of Hyundai more than any other automaker.

Very, very afraid.

That is a very nice interior, though the center stack reminds me of the tC's

Far from it. Hyundai already has a midsize BOF SUV called the Terracan (pretty crappy, but cheap), as well as a large fwd sedan almost as big as a Five Hundred developed with Mitsubishi years ago—the Equus (Mitsubishi's was the Proudia).

The interior is pretty nice but if new Hyundai offerings are any indication, the exterior is going to be in need of a bra.

The interior looks pretty nice, except that it has way too many buttons and what looks like some sort of I-drive controller.

I think I'll take an Acadia.

ehhhh...a fully camo'ed Korean prototype...can't say I feel bad about missing that. Interesting marketing approach by K/H though.

Might be able to make a few bucks off those interior shots...you'd need to take them offline before they spread around though.

Meh, there are pics out there of the interior already.
