September 15, 200520 yr Tall wagon to be first of Mitsubishi's new U.S. offerings As part of its planned revival, Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors Corp. is readying a series of new products for North America through 2008. Among the most important is a redesigned version of the Outlander, the company's tall wagon. Due to reach U.S. dealerships in fall 2006, the '07 Outlander will be larger and more substantial than the current compact utility vehicle. The redesigned Outlander will offer an optional third row and seating for seven, as well as an optional 3.0-liter V-6 engine that is expected to produce around 250 horsepower. The first version of the new vehicle, aimed at the Japanese domestic market, will be unveiled in October at the Tokyo Motor Show as a replacement for the Airtrek. Other variants will be sold in China and Europe. -- Paul Lienert Detroit News
