September 22, 200619 yr Kia Cee'd SW wagon version being introduced at the Paris Auto Show: Edited September 24, 200619 yr by HarleyEarl
September 22, 200619 yr Almost looks as if they crafted a G6 frontend onto an Optra Wagon, then slap the KIA grille on.
September 22, 200619 yr Looks like a Mazda3 with a bad back end, Volvo taillights, and a weird window.
September 22, 200619 yr Recipe for a Hyundai Take one part Mercedes A-Class Foglights from a new Lexus IS Side profile from a Nissan Murano Taillights from a Volvo Take random 90's headlights for inspiration. ..what, that's not original enough? Let's just give it a really wierd name...
September 22, 200619 yr :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: The Chery QQ has a more original design than this.
September 22, 200619 yr As Toni noticed, it's a Kia, not a Hyundai. Same platform as the Elantra though.
September 22, 200619 yr Back end is a ripoff of the Peugeot 407 SW...they could sue... http://www.drive.com.au/buy/new/car_featur...arSales:Peugeot
September 23, 200619 yr Author It's not to my tastes, but man, it's nice to see something different for this category of vanilla cars.
September 24, 200619 yr Not so fast. The original '98 Carens had that way before the Peugeot came out. Reference?
September 24, 200619 yr No-one has mentioned Mazda3 yet. 196761[/snapback] ... Looks like a Mazda3 with a bad back end, Volvo taillights, and a weird window. but in other news... um... its... interesting? anyone have any idea where that name came from? i dunno... this is way out there... i cant even say whether i like it or not... i have yet to comprehend the ideation behin this...
September 24, 200619 yr Author Regarding the name Cee'd. Apparently Kia wanted something that people would remember and talk about. It's a loose representation of: European Community/European Design. And another symbolic intent was for this car to be the 'seed' of continued growth. So there you have it. In more detail: http://www.perrys.co.uk/kia/Kia-name-new-model-the-ceed
September 25, 200619 yr see saw. i seed, i sawed,.. i no likeyd... arent all of hyundais and kias loose interpretations of someone elses designs anyway? except maybe that new sonata and camry... im not sure what came around first but i know honda's probably pissed at both.
September 24, 200718 yr Apparently Kia wanted something that people would remember and talk about Well people are talking about cee'd. Many people, including me find it as a very nice car...
November 15, 200718 yr To me, it looks original enough, with a few parts here and there that they burrowed, like most companys do these days. Burrowing better designs and intergrates to it. To me, it looks like a Kia version of Hyundai's I30. I am not a fan of neither since I don't like small cars, but it doesn't look too bad. It's only for Korea and Europe right? Too bad we won't see it in the Stateside anytime soon.
