Not the greatest image, but you can definitely make out some Saab characteristics in this new CUV. To be based on Epsilon 2 / Theta platform with a 250hp 2.8V6 and turbo charged 300hp version as well. To be made in Mexico and introduced in Spring 2008 as a MY2009 model. This model will spell the end of the 9-7X.

Yes, this is a TE, not a Lambda. Did the Saab video give those dates? That seems early from what I've seen/heard, which says the Cadillac and Saab TE's are both '10 MY vehicles.

The front end looks very GM Sequel concept-inspired-not a bad thing, but the videophoto is otherwise fuzzy.

Looks promising! And alas, Saab gets some unique product! I like the wraparound windshield and the incorporation of the intake into the headlights. Much better than the proposed Subaru-based Saab, eh?

Also looking forward to the Cadillac version...even though I feel it should be Euro-only (as there are other lower-positioned brands in the US that would benefit from such a vehicle).

I disagree. Every luxury segment is rushing to get into the compact lux crossover segment. The RDX and X3 are the only two the segment. Infiniti is coming with the CX, Mercedes is coming with the MLK(tenative name), and Lexus is coming with one also. IMO, Buick, Saab, and Caddy should all have seperate and distinct offerings in that segment.

I disagree.  Every luxury segment is rushing to get into the compact lux crossover segment.  The RDX and X3 are the only two the segment.  Infiniti is coming with the CX, Mercedes is coming with the MLK(tenative name), and Lexus is coming with one also.  IMO, Buick, Saab, and Caddy should all have seperate and distinct offerings in that segment.

My example is this. the X5 and X3. Can you imagine the laughs if BMW made the X3 fwd? And GM should not be following Acura as an example, b/c their FWD in luxury vehicles makes them appear 2nd tier.

I wouldn't count on a wrap-around windshield on this. Looking at the photo, there aren't a set of A-pillars in the glasshouse design, and that little cue is something you have to restrict to a concept car or a concept sketch. There is a possibility of a blacked-out A-pillar, but that cue harkens back to a slew of Nineties cars, and I hope I never see it again. There is another possibility of the glass covering the A-pillars, but I doubt seeing a cue like that on a production vehicle.

AWD is probably will be what's used for Cadillac's version. There was a rumor about Epsilion II/Theta II being front, rear, or all-wheel drive capable, but I doubt that that was the plan from the start. As far as I know, EP II/TH II is front or all-wheel drive.
