October 2, 200619 yr Here was Chris Pauwels take on the future Impala RWD. He was close on the Camaro Concept with his drawing of it before it was shown to the public. If his info holds true this might bear watching. NOTE: DRAWINGS REMOVED AT REQUEST OF "TheGMSource" web site. I found them on Autoblog.com so if you look around they are out there. So in place we will enjoy a nice detailed drawing from tosil's post from below that gives you some idea of what the drawings sort of looked like. Now back to our regular program. Note from what I have read and been told 2-3 different versions have been made and all incorperate styling cues from the 1967 Impala. One version is full retro and one is a little more modern as were the two Camaro concepts Chevy did last year. I have heard little of the possible third design. If anyone has info on this one they might want to fill in what the concpet is on that one. We do know they plan to try to share many parts on the Camaro and Impala on the same line. This fits with what I was told a year ago that we might be suprised with what car shares the assembly line with the Camaro. Either way I in no way will say this drawing is 100% but it does incorperate many of the things I was told to look for in the new car last Feb. We will have to wait and see if we get a suprise at Detroit this year with a Impala concept. Edited October 2, 200619 yr by hyperv6
October 2, 200619 yr Cool sketches, Chris. I hope you're close.. that thing looks great! 200148
October 2, 200619 yr Looks awesome, but the front 3/4 looks too much like a Camaro with 2 extra doors. The back is sweet though.
October 2, 200619 yr 4-door Camaro? Its nice allright, but not at all realistic in terms of production values. I'd rather see something more original from the Camaro.
October 2, 200619 yr Roofline proportioning. 200185 From the back it looks possible, but not the front...come to think of it they look like 2 different cars (I prefer the back)
October 2, 200619 yr Yeah, it looks too much like a 4 door Camaro. Although it looks totally awesome, I'd rather see a vehicle with its own polarizing design, instead of the Camaro's. Nice job though!
October 2, 200619 yr MotorTrend has some concept in the latest issue of what "they think" the new Impala will look like. Maybe somebody can post the pic.
October 2, 200619 yr it's not an attractive car... not even the rear end. it's a good drawing, but I don't think it's a good looking car. it kind of resembles the challenger concept from 99
October 2, 200619 yr I'll have to agree with those that say it needs its own front end and side sculpturing instead of cribbing the Camaro. The rear end is sweet. I hope Chevrolet doesn't dilute the Camaro image by making the Impala simply a four door version of that car. They've already gutted the Monte Carlo name by doing the same thing.
October 2, 200619 yr Great design, Chris! It would be cool if Chevy incorporated the Camaro styling theme throughout the division, to give the brand its own distinct look. I hope Chevrolet doesn't dilute the Camaro image by making the Impala simply a four door version of that car. I was thinking the same thing. Although I feel this drawing is more speculative than the piece Chris did on the Camaro. If they went with the Camaro-styling theme, I'd expect a lot more variation in the styling, while keeping the same philosophy, of course.

October 6, 200619 yr It looks just like what it is, a 4 door Camaro. Not a very practical setup for a family sedan.
