October 12, 200619 yr I always did like the Vibe. Although it's hard to tell with all the camo, the back looks like it has a little Caliber influence. Edited October 12, 200619 yr by Dodgefan
October 12, 200619 yr I can't tell much, but I do get a slight Toyota vibe from the styling on the side... but again it could just be the camo, so we'll see.

October 12, 200619 yr Yeah the 2008 Vibe was slated to again be paired with the Toyota Matrix. These pictures are just big, but it will probably be similar in size to the current model and Dodge Caliber-which if Pontiac Vibe wants to stay alive and get its Vibe back (which it lost after about 2004), it'll need to have Caliber's good styling points, such as the rear roofline for example.

I bet it shares platforms again.
October 12, 200619 yr What the Vibe really needs is a selection of Ecotecs and better drivetrain combinations. Its extrodinarily disappointing to realize the only way to get the 'best' 1.8l is to get the GT with a stixk only and several thousand added to the price tag. Any variation of Toyota's 1.8l is a waste of everyone's time.

October 12, 200619 yr The Vibe isn't powerful, but it's the most fuel-efficient car that GM sells. 204100 I'll sacrifice two MPG for an engine that isn't a pile.
October 13, 200619 yr In one photo, it appears Pontiac may actually be ditching the tiny, BMW-esque kidney grilles for some real dual-ports. The headlamps remind me of the Nissan Quest and the beltline is definitely influenced by the G6. The dimentions also look similar to the current car, and the roofline appears to be similar to the current Matrix. We'll see this when -- Detriot? The car looks pretty nice, and I actually can't wait to see what this product looks like and how it's differentiated from it's probably dowdy and ugly Toyota cousin. I also hope to see a real engine underhood instead of some underpowered blender motor.
October 13, 200619 yr Fly-I think the new Vibe is getting the new engine from toyota in the 08 rollas'.. It doesn't look at all bad.... Though the camo hides it pretty well.. I wonder when it's due out?
October 13, 200619 yr I definitely see a G6 in the front, but the bodystyle is still meh. I was hoping more along the lines of a CX-7 or Mazda3 Sport. Hope it will prove me wrong sooner or later.
October 13, 200619 yr It looks like a Pontiac under the camo. What is that thing, Chris? And why is the camo cut out like a Pontiac, especially in the front-end?
October 13, 200619 yr agreed. this looks like a reskin to me, also. 203998 That is to be expected since Toyota isn't changing the platform for this generation Corolla (they usually do that every second model change).

And why is the camo cut out like a Pontiac, especially in the front-end? 204207 Why would GM have the camo cut out like that if it was a Pontiac? I can see why LLN or Lehmann think it is a Vibe, but there is something else familiar about it as well. Can't place it though.
October 13, 200619 yr very effective camo job. I can see this not being the Vibe, though it's hard to tell. I can't tell if there is a break in the grill behind that triangular camo piece or not.
October 13, 200619 yr I thought the Vibe wasn't to continue after the current iteration... hence the need <?> for the G5. New Scion maybe? Edited October 13, 200619 yr by Oldsmoboi
October 13, 200619 yr it looks like a g*d@mned armadillo! how can you tell a blessed thing about it. although i do understand the caddy comments, something about it...but it looks like it could be a honda crx, too. really nice camo...hmmm what could they be hiding...
October 13, 200619 yr The front appears to look more substantial and sporty but, like has been mentioned, this is probably a basic reskin.
December 2, 200619 yr Is this a GM NA vehicle? At first I thought it might be the Astra hatch that's already available in Europe heavily disguised (though that wouldn't make sense) but the slant of the hatch window is too steep and the rear door cut isn't the same. But the overall shape seems similar. If this is a GM product, could it be the next Cobalt?
December 5, 200619 yr It looks more Toyota this time around than the last version which is not a good thing!
December 6, 200619 yr I think there is way to much Camo on these to tell anything other than what the article states...steeper windshield and rear window, as well as higher beltline. I am actually really excited to see this...am I the only one?
December 7, 200619 yr I just toured the Nummi plant this last Tuesday and saw the frame of a car I did not recognize. It was at a part of the plant they were working on. I thought it might be the new one.
December 14, 200619 yr Hard to tell what it is due to the camo, so I'll wait to "brand" it until later, at which point I will give my opinion as well.
December 23, 200619 yr I can't tell if it looks like the Caliber, or the Aztek! What's with the stupid hatches on wagonettes these days!!!! They don't look cool, but they sure as heck sacrafice several cubic feet of space!
February 13, 200719 yr You guys do know that in Japan, Toyota didn't sell the Matrix, but the Vibe (named Voltz). Yeah, I was hoping for a Delta/Ecotec Vibe myself, but it's obviously not gonna happen this go-round. I also personally liked the GT.

But we all know why they sell that and not the Matrix... This Looks a hundred times better than this
