October 16, 200619 yr So, now that I am a "product specialist" for Jeep, I get people asking me lost of stuff about Jeeps and it's a lot of fun. I really realize how much stuff there is to remember about all the different models. But today, I had a lady come up to me and ask me where the Oldsmobile display was at. I was kinda taken aback and I wanted to tell here that it didn't exist anymore, but I just pointed her in the direction of the GM display.
October 16, 200619 yr Author im guessing in her 60s..... she didn't seem all there. But I saw a Saturn brochure today and it is totally Oldsmobile now.... its sad they couldn't keep the name.
October 16, 200619 yr This reminds of me of comments I heard at the local auto show last Spring...I was looking at the GTO and a woman asked her male friend 'What's a Pontiac?'...he said 'Some kind of Dodge, I think..'...talk about being out of touch...

October 17, 200619 yr Somehow start a "companion brand program" and make Oldsmobile be the companion brand of Saturn. Then let it slowly take over.
October 17, 200619 yr Yeahhhh... kinda like LaSalle did for Cadillac! Oh, wait... :AH-HA_wink: 205634[/snapback] But hey, it worked for Pontiac.
October 17, 200619 yr People are so out of touch...my friend thought Acura was a model and that the PT Cruiser was its own brand. My aunt didn't know plymouth was dead.
