Scraping Noise

Featured Replies

i have a 00 grand prix and when the wheel is cut all the way left there is an horrendous rubbing/scraping kind of noise coming from the right front.

its most noticeable from a stopped position, as say pulling out of a parking space.

it rides great and handles fine

any ideas??.

whoa, settle down. lets not everyone answer at once. did i mention theres a treat

for the one who gets it closest.

eh, nevermind. i reckon its kinda hard to tell over the intranet. its going to my friends shop this weekend when i get time.

sounds like it could be a wheel bearing problem, I know I'm probably coming in on this one a day late and a dollar short, but check that and the suspension and drivetrain components right there at the wheel and look for obvious things, like cracked or ripped boots, grease leaking out, or get the car up in the air and check for excessive free-play.

thanks, 76. it was actually an ac compressor that is slightly out of place. quick fix.

the motor is shoved in there pretty good its a chore to check the power steering fluid even when its cold.
