Your odometer is still at 7900? I thought you had an '05? If so, are you like the guy with the Porsche from Ferris Beuller, it stays parked and you rub it with a diaper?

Maybe I'm just used to commuting, and having friends that live far away. Me and my friends all put on lots of miles. I've had the Cobalt 14 months now, and I'm going to turn 52,000 km later today.

I have sigs turned off. I haven't even seen my sig in like 4 months. It's more like 10,600 now.

To my surprise, it's roughly on par with teh EPA estimates. Combined mileage varies between 24mpg and 33 mpg depending on how much city driving vs highway driving I do.

Damn... how long have you had your Cobalt, again? Since June, I've put about 8k on my Millenia. :P

Wow, as low as 24 MPG? That's MUCH worse than I get. The WORST I've seen my combined mileage at for any prolonged period of driving is 7.1 L/100km, which translates to 33 mpg. 24 MPG is about 10 L/100km. The only time I see numbers that high is sitting in traffic jams, going 20km/h, stop, 10 km/h, stop, etc.

I've seen it at 5.7 L/100km (41 mpg) fairly frequently on highway-only. I reset it right at the top of the Hamilton Escarpment once and went down the 3-km hill at 1.1 L/100km (213 mpg)!!!

Since December '05. It's on a Smart Buy, so until 12/2009 I'm limited to roughly 48,267 miles if I decide I want to trade it in (which I probably will just for the sake of getting something newer).

24 mpg is with ALL city driving. That was when I would commute to work, which was a 5 minute drive across town along side streets. This route included two red lights and five stop signs, and speeds that almost never exceeded 30mph, with the engine not having all that much time to warm up. This mileage increases greatly if I take any parkway/highway trips, and especially when I take my typical cross-state trek to my parent's house.

But that's nothing. I once had it drop to 17 mpg after going WOT from stop sign to stop sign.

For the most part I'm just reciting numbers that I've read off of my DIC at any point in time. I never actually tried to calculate my fuel consumption, so I don't know for certain.
