September 17, 200520 yr Even though George Bush doesn't care about him, I really like his new song and video with Jamie Foxx, "Gold Digger". And the chicks are all hot!
September 17, 200520 yr Author Although I haven't heard any other songs off his new cd, it has won excellent reviews from what I've seen. I want to buy it.
September 17, 200520 yr ive got both the college dropout and late registration, and i gotta tell you man, late registration is getting your moneys worth..its gotta be one of the best albums of 2005..trust me, just go buy it :)
September 18, 200520 yr A lot of it actually IS real Hip-Hop, a good lot of it seems to be pandering to fans of different regions and different genres (trying to be all things to all people)...but even after all the hoopla of the past few weeks, it is a dope album (better than College Dropout, that's for damn sure), and if I bump into a vinyl copy, it will be part of the crates. If any folks would like to hear it, just PM me.
September 18, 200520 yr Author I just got home. I bought it. Excellent so far, got up to track 5, kept repeating track 4... "Now I ain't sayin' she a gold digga, but she ain't messin' wit no broke niggas..." I also bought the new Paul McCartney cd, "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard". I'm about to pop it in my player here in the house.
September 18, 200520 yr "Now I ain't sayin' she a gold digga, but she ain't messin' wit no broke niggas..." [post="15892"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] Damn, this has to be the first use of "nigga"on C&G...
September 18, 200520 yr I've only heard Gold Digger from this CD and will not be going out of my way to purchase the album after his remarks about Bush. While I may not agree with the man, there's a time and a place to let your feelings heard. The telethon which was aimed to help people was used to spread his cause. No thanks, Kanye.
September 18, 200520 yr In this case (and only this case) I swing both ways in terms of position. I often vote democrat, however I (unlike some or most) realize when right is right.
September 18, 200520 yr I don't do political views on C&G, but one does have to say you can't go in a setting like that saying such things....
September 18, 200520 yr 'blu, did you get a strange look buying Kanye West and Paul McCartnet albums at the same time? Thats one hell of a strange combo. I haven't heard the new Kanye song, I'm sure I will sometime. I've heard the new McCartney album is pretty good, but that was from a Clearchannel DJ, so who knows if it really is.
September 18, 200520 yr I used to call myself a Republican, but I'm a Libertarian in reality. Big Brother Scares me more than any Liberal threat.
September 18, 200520 yr Yeah, I noticed Libertarians are pretty conservative thinkers.... I'm surprised they aren't coming up in national office in this climate.
September 18, 200520 yr Author Just to clarify: I totally disagree with Mr. West's comment about President Bush. I believe the president is misunderstood on a lot of issues. It's a shame, really.
September 18, 200520 yr Oh man, I wish I didn't read this thread cause I love that song and didn't know who sang it. Bah! Yeah, I noticed Libertarians are pretty conservative thinkers.... I'm surprised they aren't coming up in national office in this climate. I wouldn't say they are conservative. I would say they are more "old school;" as in thinking that the country should be ran as it was intended in 1787 when they wrote the constitution. Edited September 18, 200520 yr by lakefire
September 18, 200520 yr Anybody actually seen the clip of Kanye badmouthing Bush? It was on The Daily Show a few weeks ago. I know I shouldn't laugh, but it's absolutely hilarious! The look on Mike Myers face is priceless!
September 18, 200520 yr And the chicks are all hot! [post="15813"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] blu im suprised you turning? never thought it would be kanye west that did it but he turned ya straight with his vid chicks didnt he :P laugh out loud

I support Greenday however you don't see them going on a telethon for a national tragedy spreading their words. They do it through music and their concerts. I don't want to beat the political drum, but I think Kanye is over-rated.
September 18, 200520 yr Kanye is the man. I never listened to him until Gold Digger, but, damn.. he's sweet.
September 18, 200520 yr Author Drive slow homie! Nah mute, not switchin' teams. Just recognizing. Edited September 18, 200520 yr by ocnblu
September 18, 200520 yr Drive slow homie! Nah mute, not switchin' teams. Just recognizing. [post="16347"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] Yeah, that song got me a little more into Paul Wall, when I simply didn't know who he even was, let alone feel him.
September 19, 200520 yr I hate Kanye... He's too damn cocky. Even moreso than me, wouldn't you say, Sixty8? And like Josh, think he's overrated. I don't like the music either... Bleh. Now that's not because of the Bush comment... That just made me hate him even more. :P But speaking of music... I really want to get Avenged Sevenfold's new album. I've first heard of their music on Nascar Thunder 04... How ironic? But I really want this CD... their other two ones as well. I want to get System of a Down's new one as well... :D
September 19, 200520 yr Author Everybody's goin' to a party, have a real good time... That song is so schizophrenic. I don't really care for System. Kanye's new cd has about 4 songs on it that I really like. The rest is too hardcore for me. Depeche Mode has a new cd coming out. I was heavy into them for years and wish them renewed success. I am a fan of what used to be called Alternative Rock. I also love 60's Psychedelia. I'm a Beatles fan. The Doors and Jefferson Airplane are also great. And who can forget Dusty Springfield?

"Flaming Pie" is one of my favorite albums of all time.
September 19, 200520 yr Author It's very good. I'll have to give it more listening time to gain a real perspective and opinion though.
