November 3, 200619 yr WENGER UNVEILS 100 YEARS OF INNOVATION IN ONE KNIFE All Implements Produced by Wenger Showcased in World's Largest Swiss Army Knife -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Basel, Switzerland - Wenger-the maker of the Genuine Swiss Army Knife- unveiled its latest and largest innovation, the Giant Collector's Knife. After successfully introducing the revolutionary EVOlution Swiss Army Knife in 2005 and the "S" series locking blades in 2006, Wenger poured 100 years of craftsmanship into the Giant Collector's Knife. This unique piece contains all 85 tools currently produced by Wenger which can be used in over 100 functions. The Giant Collector's Knife features a wide range of Wenger tools including seven blades, three types of pliers, and seemingly countless screwdrivers, saws, wrenches, and other tools. Additionally, some of the more unique implements included are a bicycle chain rivet setter, signal whistle, cigar-cutting scissors, laser pointer, tire-tread gauge, and the requisite toothpick, tweezers, and key ring. This knife weighs two pounds and eleven ounces, measures slightly under 9" wide, and features Wenger's revolutionary EVO ergonomic handles for easier gripping and control. "This is not exactly going to win any awards for lightest, smallest, or most efficient tools with which to going backpacking. It is however, getting a lot of attention and is the best platform for showcasing our product capabilities," said Dennis Piretra, Director of Marketing for Wenger NA. "The most often asked question is about whether or not we have a pouch for it. Our answer is simple. You don't need a pouch, the knife has a key ring." "This knife is a compliation not only of Wenger's entire family of tools but Wenger's history," added Piretra. "100 years of quality craftsmanship is compiled in this collector's item and is a testament to Wenger's ingenuity and creativity while still upholding the Wenger's Swiss made quality of excellence." Below is a full list of all 85 implements. This special edition knife must be individually ordered through Wenger, NA and has an MSRP of $1,200.00. November 3, 200619 yr That would make an awesome projectile weapon when combined with a catapult. 211850[/snapback] It's not really a "pocket knife" anymore unless your pockets are the size of a glovebox.
November 3, 200619 yr I saw a little article on that in Popular Science magazine. That's funny as heck. But... a key ring? The weight of that thing would pull the ignition switch right out of the steering column.
November 3, 200619 yr I heard the first knife was sold to Edward Scissorhands, but unfortunately, both he and the knife were confiscated by the TSA at LAX airport!
