November 20, 200619 yr any known plans to put these trannies in passenger vehicles? ... we know they're going into the gmt900s and probably the NG vue... is this going to be an option for larger engines over the BAS system?
November 23, 200619 yr I read somewhere that Chysler would build the FWD version. That should make it into both Gm and Chrysler FWD cars. The Continental Teves system used in the Pickups is for larger engines as well. Like BAS it's a Start stop system.
November 23, 200619 yr GM and it's partners are developing the dual-mode hybrid for all types of vehicle, cars and trucks, fwd and rwd. GM has already shown a fwd concept and once it debuts in the Vue it should make its way readily to midsize applications on the next Epsilon platform. Mercedes-Benze is leading development of the system for luxury rwd cars.
