November 26, 200619 yr Saturday afternoon, I stopped to get gas before I left town for Freeport IL to see some friends for dinner. The gallons (after almost a week of driving) was 7.729 for $17.00. On the way back home late Saturday night, I thought about getting gas, but decided I'd just get gas today (Sunday) after I did some running around. So, today, I stopped at Walmart, stopped at a no-touch car wash to get the '87 MC LS washed, drove a bit to help dry it off a bit more, then stopped for gas. After I got back home and started inputting the figures into my "gas book", I was stunned to discover that the gallons and dollar amount were exactly the same as yesterday's ... 7.729 gallons for $17.00. And, no, I didn't stop it at $17 on purpose. As much as I keep track of facts and figures, I have never remembered what the dollar amount and gallons were from fill up to fill up, regardless of the time between fillups. Gas mileage was NOT the same, of course, since Sunday's fill-up came after a road trip of sorts (lots of highway driving) and the previous fill-up came after a week (rather, "mini" week) of driving back'n'forth to work.... Anyone else happen to get the same amount of gallons and dollar amount on back-to-back fill-ups? November 26, 200619 yr i have fogot to flip up the license plate multiple times tho. COPs and gas station owners dont like that. plus i never hover around full im always between 1/2 and empty. so i just put 20 at a time.

It cost me $41 to fill up the GTO (16.8 gallons, meaning only 1.2 gallons left). Of course the average mileage was 12.4MPG, and then I did about 1 1/2 driving at 75-80MPH and only got 19MPG Oh, how I love to stomp on the throttle and let her loose
November 28, 200619 yr Along similar numerology lines: on 6/6/06 my wife bought three items in the supermarket that cost $6.66. I've been tracking my fill-ups for over 10 years and have not had a back-to-back identical gas stop that I recall.
November 28, 200619 yr It's nice to see I am not the only car nerd that calculates MPG/$/milage as methodically as this. Just the other day I found a small manilla envelpe from my 1986 Caddy (remember the silver F.B.?) with every single receipt and piece of paperwork associated with that car. The MPG math was done by me freehand on the back. That car averaged exactly 18.1mpg in the summer of 2005. Those Olds 307s are a bit too little for a car of that massive weight.
