An Erie County Industrial Development Agency public hearing Dec. 8 will consider a request for $21 million in incentives for the General Motors Powertrain plant.

GM says the package is essential to bringing additional work into the Town of Tonawanda facility.

Spokeswoman Doris Powers Toney in Pontiac, Mich., said the automaker is considering renovating the facility "for the purpose of modernizing engine lines and volume for possible new work.

"Until after the hearing, we won't have anything further," she said. "There is nothing new to report."

The earliest that the ECIDA could act on GM's request would be at the full board meeting Dec. 11.

you talking about diesels that are mentioned as "rumored" i think it was?

that would be nice, it'd take a year or two to build anyway and get up and running.
