December 1, 200619 yr Man, the Stratus is pathetic, topped only by the Crossfire. The 300 aqnd the Magnum are down,, but the Charger is up. Prhaps if they got 5-speeds for their trannies like the Charger it'd help. This shows the new products are certainly off to a good start, especially the Wrangler, and the Avenger and minivans can't come soon enough. It's nice to see they sold more, but it was probably due to heavy incentives
December 2, 200619 yr Man, the Stratus is pathetic, topped only by the Crossfire. Its hard to sell Stratus' when there are appearently none left. The Stratus has been out of production since july or aug so dealers have few left. The Sterling Heights plant will soon be building the Stratus replacement, the Avenger.
December 2, 200619 yr Everyone thought Chrysler would have a horrible month. But notice how sales of the Sebring were only about 1300 less than the Fusion, the PT Cruiser outsold the Focus (not a direct competitor I know, but it is the Chrysler division's small car), the Pacifica outsold the Freestyle more than 2 to 1, and the 300 outsold the 500 almost 3 to 1. Also notice how the Commander is doing pretty well, although I think its sales increase is at the expense of the Grand Cherokee.
December 2, 200619 yr Ford was in 4th place in November sales for the first time in history. DC and toyota both beat Ford.
December 3, 200619 yr Ford was in 4th place in November sales for the first time in history. DC and toyota both beat Ford. 223088 Really? Wow...that's horrible for Ford.
December 3, 200619 yr The Nitro was not Dodge's first mid-size SUV-that was the 1998-2003 Durango. And second of all, Nitro is most definitely a compact SUV, not a mid-size. Take a look at a TrailBlazer and a Nitro side by side and compare cargo room and exterior size-its a very, very clear difference, trust me. Nice truck that I bet will do well though, despite the deluded divisions/PR and narrow rear step-in height. Anyway, looks like Stratus, Dakota, and Magnum sales fell by half-that sucks, though Avenger can't come soon enough-Dodge would be wise to rush it out, and in the future, not leave such giant gaps in their lineups-no compact sedans, no mid-size sedan for over a year, and then the early Intrepid discontinuance in early 2004, only a Magnum for 2005, and no Charger until 2006. Not a smart move, but it was worth it for Charger.
December 4, 200619 yr The average of incentive spent per car is more than 4000$. It's going to work for a while.
December 7, 200619 yr Also notice how the Commander is doing pretty well, although I think its sales increase is at the expense of the Grand Cherokee. 223087 The Chrysler has had to slap BIG discounts on the Commander almost from the start and has been a disappointment to Chrysler from a profit standpoint which is the bottom line. It was intro'ed just as the Mid Size SUV fade ended with a thud & its only selling now becuase Jeep is slapping $8K on the hood in rebates or doing insane lease deals that are going to kill its residual value.
