December 10, 200619 yr Yup, the Colorado has been recalled for a potentially faulty brake light switch at the pedal. I got the letter yesterday. Affected vehicles will either have inoperative brake lights, or "always on" brake lights. Cruise control will also be inoperative because the circuit runs through that switch. I haven't had a problem with my truck, but I'll still take it in to have it done. It will be 3 years old end of next month, it's a first-year model and this is the first recall notice I've gotten for it. I'd say that's not a bad record, comparatively. I can only hope the new truck is as good. And thanks again, Mr. Fly, for the heads up a while back.
December 10, 200619 yr Just be glad it's not a Maserati, mine had that problem and it was a PITA. The switch actually threads into the master cylinder and is actuated by the hydraulic pressure of the brake fluid itself!
December 11, 200619 yr Tis the season... Got a notice about possible faulty catalytic converter for the 00 Z28.

December 11, 200619 yr Yeah, we got the recall notices in on our two Canyon delivery trucks on friday. Shouldn't be too big of a problem really, just replace the defective switch with the correct one, shoudln't take too long, although I know that sometimes people LOVE to take their sweet time.
