December 13, 200619 yr T1G#T WH!P$ TROPHY TRIVIA In the next few weeks I'm going to post 59 different trivia questions of all different forms on C&G. Multiple choice, photo identification, photo match up & even some true or false. Some questions will be multiple part and others a simple one word answer. At the end of the 59 individual trivia thread questions all the winners will be added up and a trophy will be mailed via the USPS to the over all winner of the first annual Tight Whips Trivia Trophy. Best of luck to all, I encourage everyone to participate. ...................................................... December 13, 200619 yr Author Thank You Sir, it took me a long while to make this one, the boxes are 59x59 pixles btw  but I think it's the most elaborate "question" ever. It kind of had to be though in so that we could have a three point swing. December 13, 200619 yr This is giving me fits! Some of those pics are just too smal for me to make out what I'm looking at. Still, I'm making progress.
December 13, 200619 yr There are only 2 that I'm really unsure of. Surprisingly, they're two of the modern ones. The '30s ones were a pain in the a** for me, but I eventually found them all (I think). For a lot of those, I acutally managed to find the original picture Sly used. I like my chances on this one.
December 13, 200619 yr Hey YD, don't you have to go wax the driveway or sweep the roof until 12:30 AM tonight? Catch that MASH rerun you've only seen 14 times? Anything??
December 14, 200619 yr Author Okay guys... the G/F is in the mood so I'm off to bed. I'm not going to be a complete hardass about the 12:00 midnight deadline, so long as your answers are posted "tonight" and they're there in the morning hours tomorrow you'll be good to go. To keep things consistant please post the answers in a clear-cut manner. Perhaps like this: 1912 Cadillac: A-13 1931 Pontiac: F-7 1949 Buick: C-4 etc.
December 14, 200619 yr OK I'm too tired to keep this up, so 10 of these are barely even guesses. The other 81 I'm pretty sure of. December 14, 200619 yr Man I just couldn't look at those pics any longer, so the last ten that I did involved little thought. I already see one now that YD posted his, I'm too tired to check them all though. 68 is trying to kill us.
December 14, 200619 yr Agreed. I found some of the pics used, but then others just baffled me. So when in doubt guess! I tried to post mine earlier and got the 404 screen when I hit reply. December 14, 200619 yr Author So here are the results: Camino: 80/91 87.9% correct ------------------ Yell-Dart: 85/91 93.4% correct ------------------ Balthy: 85/91 93.4% correct ------------------ OldsGuy: 87/91 95.6% correct ------------------ Camino: you put down G13 for 1984 Datsun btui I'm pretty sure when I came to visit you with my '84 you ddi not confuse it with a 1957 Plymouth Fury. I just assumed it was a typo since the correct answer was D13 it's a very logical assumption. I made a screw up on the 1961/1962 Buick photo. The "SURFBOARD SIDE" (as I call them) 1961/62 Buicks are all gorgeous to me but they all seem to confuse me at times. I'm always confusing Skylarks with Specials & Invictas with Electras those two years. The problem is all the many trim levels and the fact that I have yet to see most of them in the flesh. I honesstly have not seen more than 3 or maybe 4 of these cars motionless & up close at a show. They're 99% as beautiful to me as a 1959... it's only 1960 I'm not crazy about. Here's smoe insight on the pics that stumped most of you guys... taken out of context some of them really are a bit confusing, esp. if it is 1:30am. I'm a bit dissapointed that FlyBrain did not participate but he's still got a lot of points racked up anyway. As it stands OldsGuy gets 3 points, YD & Bathazar get 2 each Camino gets one well earned point. Thanks for participating. Edited December 15, 200619 yr by Sixty8panther
December 14, 200619 yr The ones that confused me the most: 59 Buick, 99 Chrysler and 03 Nissan. The Buick, I still can't find pictures of one with that moulding on the side... where the heck did you get that picture??? The Chrysler, you zoomed the picture in so far that I thought the surround on those headlights was bumper - so I was looking for a car with 4 round headlights, which confused me. The Nissan, I'm still not sure what Nissan that could possibly be. Is there any possibility in you posting the correct answers, or telling us which ones we got wrong?
December 14, 200619 yr 68: Yeah, typo on the Fury/Nissan thing. I was so tired when I typed it all out that I'm surprised I didn't make more typos. I've been fighting the need to get glasses and this contest almost has me raising the white flag. Those pics were too small for me to focus on in many cases. I so wanted to section a few of them out by themselves and blow them up so I could grasp what I was looking at. Congrats on putting such a tough puzzler together, I can't imagine the work it took.
December 14, 200619 yr I was at work from like 6pm-4am this morning, so...meh...I'd still like to see how many I got right, valid or not. 1913 Stanley Steamer 7a 1915 Oldsmobile 11f 1915 Simplex 13c 1923 Rolls Royce 5f 1927 Studebaker 6b 1929 Ford 3d 1930 Duesenberg 11e 1930 Pierce Arrow 11c 1931 Cadillac 2g 1932 Marmon 6e 1936 Auburn 12d 1936 Cord 2b 1937 Plymouth 1a 1938 BMW 10c 1939 Plymouth 8f 1940 Willys 4e 1941 Lincoln 8b 1941 Chrysler 5g 1941 Rolls Royce 7c 1946 Oldsmobile 3a 1947 Dodge 8d 1947 Lincoln 7g 1951 Studebaker 4f 1951 DeSoto 11g 1951 Mercury 3c 1952 Hudson 13b 1954 Pontiac 2e 1955 Imperial 11d 1956 Chevrolet 4c 1956 Porsche 5e 1957 Cadillac 1b 1957 Plymouth 13g 1957 Buick 10f 1957 Chevrolet 1c 1959 Dodge 10d 1959 Cadillac 2d 1959 Buick 4a 1960 Ford 12a 1960 Dodge 11b 1960 Tatra 7d 1961 Lincoln 4g 1961 Nash 6d 1961 Cadillac 13f 1962 Imperial 5a 1962 King Midget 1e 1962 Buick 5d 1963 Chevrolet 3e 1964 Datsun 6f 1964 Buick 9a 1966 Mercury 12b 1966 Chevrolet 3e 1970 Oldsmobile 10b 1970 Cadilliac 1g 1970 Pontiac 2c 1971 Cadilliac 5b 1972 Buick 4d 1972 Dodge 12f 1973 Oldsmobile 3f 1976 Datsun 6a 1977 Honda 11a 1978 Porsche 9e 1978 Volkswagon 12g 1978 BMW 9b 1979 Chevrolet 6c 1979 Cadilliac 9d 1982 Toyota 10a 1983 Ford 5c 1983 Plymouth 13d 1983 Cadilliac 8g 1984 Datsun 9g 1984 Pontiac 7f 1985 Peugeot 8a 1987 Buick 1f 1987 Ferrari 4b 1987 Cadilliac 7b 1991 Ford 7f 1992 GMC 12c 1992 Pontiac 9c 1994 Bugatti 12e 1995 Mercury 9b 1998 Pontiac 2a 1999 Chrysler 8e 2000 Lamborghini 6g 2002 Oldsmobile 10g 2003 Nissan 1b 2004 Mercedes 13a 2004 Saturn 10e 2005 Dodge 2f 2006 Cadilliac 8c 2006 Porsche 1d 2007 Chevrolet 13e

December 14, 200619 yr Author Is there any possibility in you posting the correct answers, or telling us which ones we got wrong? 227778[/snapback] Sure... I was planning on it. Ford starters the 1st gen. Infiniti M45 sedan was sold everywhere else in the world as a Nissan Gloria.
December 15, 200619 yr Yes, Sixty8: it would be cool to know which one's we individually got wrong, and what the right answers for those were. I was unsure on the 3 modern ones I crossed-up, but the other 3 I'm wondering on. And I take back my 'correction': I believe you were right on the '61/62 Buick because it looks like a Special/Skylark by the bumper; I was thinking full-size as usual. Sorry about that.

December 16, 200619 yr Just outta curiosity, was the 1971 Cadillac square made from a picture of my old Coupe DeVille? Reason I ask is I noticed they were the same color! The 1970 Cadillac square also resembles Brad's '70 Coupe DeVille that lived with you during your final days at the Tyngsboro house.
December 16, 200619 yr Author Actually, no for both. I made the colage on my laptop but the photos of the '70 & your '71 CdV are all on Marcia's hp tower. Plus I thought it might make it easier for people if the photos were from a familiar. I used my personal "right-click" photo collection on my H.D. as well as google for a few. Sorry about still not correcting Fly's and posting all the details about everyone else's... I'll get around to it soon. Right now I am still on anti-biotics and I have a headache from hell.
