Spied: 2008 Dodge Dakota

From the looks of this latest spy photo, the 2008 Dodge Dakota will get a revamped grille and a new set of headlights by late next year. Expect to see the base 3.7-liter six replaced by Chrysler's new 4.0-liter V6 too, while the V8s get bumps in horsepower. A much needed interior upgrade should be part of the package as well.

Looks like the same treatment as the Durango, I always thought the Dakota's current designed looked too low in front.

Not too bad.

But, in actuality, the whole needs to go back to the organic muscular splendor of the 1997 - 2004 models.

Those turn my head, believe it or not.

I agree with the above posts, the 97-04 Daks were true baby Rams and sold well because of it. The new ones are a hodge podge of different designs that just doesnt go together or put out a reputation of toughness, and whats up with no Hemi offered? Pure BS. I like the idea of the new 4.0 liter going into the trucks. That's going to be a great base engine and could probably eliminate the base 4.7 V-8. They need to up the power of the "HO 4.7" though because its power would be too close to the 4.0 V-6.

Yup, I loved the 97-04 Dakotas...this one I've never been crazy for.
